in a northerly direction along the south boundary of Section 8
last mentioned to the Wairoa River, and across same to the
eastern bank thereof; then in a northerly direction along
the eastern bank of the Wairoa River to its confluence with
the Roding River; then in an easterly direction along the
south bank of the Roding River to a point thereon in pro-
longation of the western boundary of Section 4, Block X,
Waimea Survey District; then in a northerly direction
across the Roding River and along the western boundaries
of Sections 4, 74, 72, 3 of 1, 2 of 1, 1 of 1, 37, 36, 4 of 1, 33,

all in the Waimea Survey District, to the north corner of
the last-mentioned section; then in a south-easterly
direction along the north-eastern boundaries of the last-
mentioned Section XVII and Section XVIII; then in a
northerly direction along the north-western boundary of
Section 30 to the south boundary of the City of Nelson,
the last-mentioned sections being in Block VIII, Waimea
Survey District; then generally in an easterly, northerly,
and westerly direction along the southern, eastern, and
northern boundaries of the City of Nelson to the south-
western corner of Section 59, Block IX, Wakapuaka Survey
District; then in a northerly direction along the western
boundaries of the said Section 59 and Sections 60 and 61,
Block IX, Wakapuaka Survey District; then in an easterly
direction along the northern boundary of the said Section 61
to the south-western corner of Section 62; then in a
northerly direction along the western boundaries of Sections
62, 63, and 64, Block IX, Wakapuaka Survey District, to
the north-western corner of the said Section 64; then in
a south-easterly direction along the north-eastern boundary
of the said Section 64 to the south-western corner of
Section 13; then in a northerly direction along the western

along a closed road to a point in prolongation of the eastern

District; then in a northerly direction across the said
closed road and along the eastern boundary of Section 25
aforesaid to the north-eastern corner thereof; then in
an easterly direction along the northern boundary of Section 24
aforesaid to the southern corner of Section 70; then
generally in a westerly direction along the western boundaries
of Sections 70, 11, and 73, Block VI, Wakapuaka Survey
District, to the north-west corner of Section 73; then in
a westerly direction along the southern boundary of the
Section 3, Native Reserve, Block VI, Wakapuaka Survey
District, to high-water mark of Tasman Bay; then in a
southerly, westerly, and north-westerly direction along high-
water mark of Tasman Bay to the point of commencement,
excepting thereout all that area of land being the City of
Nelson, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring
rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly
on the first day of April in each and every year during the
currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five years
or until the loan is fully paid off.”

WAIPA COUNTY COUNCIL.

In the matter of the Public Works Act, 1928.

PUBLIC notice is hereby given that the Waipa County
Council proposes to execute a certain public work—
to wit, the construction of a public road—for which purpose
the following lands require to be taken by the said Waipa
County Council under the provisions of the Public Works
Act, 1928 (that is to say) :—

  1. All that piece of land containing 1 rood 20 perches
    (more or less), being part of Allotment 85 of the Parish of
    Horotiu.
  2. All that piece of land containing 27 perches (more or less),
    being part of Allotment 85 of the Parish of Horotiu.
    As the said pieces of land are delineated coloured red on a
    plan lodged in the office of the Chief Surveyor at Auckland
    under No. 28168.
    A plan of the lands required to be taken as aforesaid lies
    open to public inspection at the office of Messrs. Swarbrick
    and Swarbrick, Solicitors, Argus Buildings, Victoria Street,
    Hamilton, and at the office of the Waipa County Council,
    Bank Street, Te Awamutu.
    All persons affected are hereby called upon to set forth in
    writing any well-founded objections to the execution of such
    works or to the taking of such lands, and to send such writing
    to the Waipa County Council, Bank Street, Te Awamutu,
    within forty days from the date of the first publication of
    this notice.
    Dated at Te Awamutu, this 8th day of April, 1937.

HAMILTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

Hamilton Bridge Loan, 1937, of £6,000.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that
behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the
Hamilton Borough Council hereby resolves as follows :—
“ That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of £6,000 authorized to be raised by the
Hamilton Borough Council under the Local Legislation Act,
1932–33, and the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, for the
purpose of reconstructing the carriageway and footway of
the Hamilton Traffic Bridge and all work incidental thereto,
including the costs of a temporary bus service while the
footwalk is impassable, the removal and replacement of gas
and water mains and electric wiring, the regrading of the
adjacent streets and footways, repairing and repainting all
iron work, the purchase and delivery on the site of all necessary
materials, plant, tools, all payments for labour, engineers’
fees, plans and supervision, the said Hamilton Borough
Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-sixth of a
penny in the pound upon the rateable value (unimproved) of
all rateable property appearing in the valuation roll of the
Borough of Hamilton as at the 1st day of July, 1936, and that
such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the
currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of
April in each and every year during the currency of such loan,
being a period of six years or until the loan is fully paid off.”
I hereby certify that the above resolution was passed at a
duly constituted meeting of the Hamilton Borough Council
held on the 31st day of March, 1937.

Limited, and that the new name was this day entered on my
