Appointments in the Public Service.

Office of the Public Service Commissioners,

THE Public Service Commissioners have made the
following appointments in the Public Service:-
Charles Burton McNatty,
to be Registrar of Electors for the Electoral District of
Waikato for the purposes of the Electoral Act, 1927, as
from the 6th day of February, 1937.
George Thomas Richmond,
to be an Inspector for the purposes of the Seeds Importation
Act, 1927, as from the 16th day of February, 1937.
George Harold Davis,
to be Registrar of Marriages and Registrar of Births and Deaths
for the District of Drury, as from the 15th day of February,
1937.
Jack Douglas Snow,
to be Deputy Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at
Kakahi, as from the 13th day of February, 1937.
Manus Patrick Walls,
to be Registrar of Marriages and Registrar of Births and
Deaths for the District of Stewart Island, and Registrar of
Births and Deaths of Maoris at Half-moon Bay, as from the
15th day of February, 1937.
Leo Wilson Reid,
to be an Inspector for the purposes of the Health Act, 1920,
and an officer for the purposes of the Sale of Food and Drugs
Act, 1908, as from the 22nd day of February, 1937.
Frank Burnhope Thompson, M.Sc.,
to be an Analyst for the purposes of the Fertilizers Act, 1927,
as from the 23rd day of February, 1937.

Notice respecting Proposed Alteration of Boundaries, Thames
Valley Drainage District.
Department of Internal Affairs,
Wellington, 20th February, 1937.
It is hereby notified that a petition has been presented to
His Excellency the Governor-General under the Land
Drainage Act, 1908, and amendments, praying that the area
described in the Schedule hereto may be included in the Thames
Valley Drainage District. All persons affected are hereby
called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions
against the proposed alteration of boundaries which they
desire to lodge within one month from the first publication of
this notice, such objections or petitions to be addressed to the
Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.
SCHEDULE.
AREA PROPOSED TO BE INCLUDED IN THAMES VALLEY
DRAINAGE DISTRICT, COUNTY OF PIAKO.
ALL that area bounded by a line commencing at a point on the
boundary of the Thames Valley Drainage District (Gazette,
1933, page 1859), being the northernmost corner of Section 21,
Block VII, Waitoa Survey District; thence in a south-
westerly direction generally following the Thames Valley
Drainage District, along the south-eastern side of the Paeroa-
Tahuna Road to the north-western corner of Section 22,
Block VII, Waitoa Survey District; thence in a north-easterly
direction generally across the Paeroa-Tahuna Road aforesaid,
and along the north-western, south-western, again north-
western, and northern boundaries of Section 17 of aforesaid
Block VII, and the western boundaries of Sections 18, 19,
and 20, all of aforesaid Block VII; thence in a south-easterly
direction along the north-eastern boundary of Section 20
aforesaid and a right line across the Paeroa-Tahuna Road to
the point of commencement.

Special Order made by the Cook County Council declaring
Sections 121 and 131 of the Counties Act, 1920, not to apply
to that Council.

The following special order, made by the Cook County
Council, is published in accordance with the provisions
of the Counties Amendment Act, 1931.

"THAT the Cook County Council proceed by special order to
declare that sections 121 and 131 of the Counties Act, 1920,
shall not apply to the Cook County."
