A grazing property situated on a bridle-track off the
“Stanley Track,” four miles from Tancata Post-office,
School, and Railway-station, and six miles from Opurio
Dairy Factory. Access by means of one mile track and
three miles of motor road. Land is very steep and broken
interspersed with short cross-ridges and deep gullies. Approxi-
mately 187 acres in worn-out pasture reverting to fern,
314 acres bush land felled and grassed now badly reverted.

Rotorua County.—Rotoma Survey District.

Sections 3 and 4, Block II: Area, 832 acres 3 roods
5 perches. Capital value, £210. Deposit on deferred pay-
ments, £10 : Half-yearly instalment on deferred payments,
£6 10s. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £4 4s.

Weighted with £510 15s. for improvements, comprising a
dwelling, whare, wool-shed, clearing and grassing, sub-
divisional fencing, half-share in boundary-fencing, road-
boundary fencing. This sum is payable in cash, or, after
payment of a deposit of £5 15s., the balance of £505 as
follows:—

(1) The sum of £95 to the Lands and Survey Department
payable over a period of ten years by means of
twenty half-yearly instalments of £6 3s. 1d. each.

(2) The sum of £410 on private mortgage for ten years
with interest at 5 per cent., subject to a rebate of
½ per cent. for payment of the instalments on or
before fourteen days after the due dates thereof,
with a stipulation that the principal sum is to be
reduced by payments of £10 per half-year.

A grazing property situated on Wairoa Valley Road seven
miles from Lake Rotoma Post-office, six miles from Rotoma
School, twelve miles from Pikowai Railway-station, and
thirty miles from Ngongotaha Dairy Factory. Access by
means of a formed pumice road. Undulating to hilly land
with about 35 acres of flats and easy land at the front.
Approximately 105 acres of worn-out pasture, 398 acres bush
land felled and grassed (now reverted), 1 acre of orchard,
balance in natural state.

Special Condition.—No timber is to be cut or felled without
the permission of the Auckland Land Board first being secured.

SECOND SCHEDULE.

SECOND-CLASS LAND.

Otorohanga County.—Pirongia Survey District.

(Exempt from rental payments for a period of three years.*)
SECTION 15, Block X : Area, 384 acres 1 rood. Capital value,
£242; half-yearly rent, £4 16s. 10d.

Weighted with £545 for improvements, consisting of
dwelling, cow-shed and yards, piggeries, clearing and grassing,
subdivisional fencing, and half-share in boundary-fencing.
This sum may be paid in cash, or, after payment of a
deposit of £10, the balance of £535 as follows:—

(a) The sum of £80 to remain on first mortgage to the State
Advances Corporation of New Zealand payable over
a period of fifteen years by means of quarterly
instalments of principal and interest combined with
interest at the rate ruling as at date of selection,
subject to a rebate of ½ per cent. for payment of the
instalments on or before fourteen days after the due
date thereof.

(b) The sum of £455 to the Lands and Survey Department
over a period of fifteen years by means of thirty half-
yearly instalments of £21 18s. 4d. principal and
interest.

A grazing property situated two miles from Te Rau-a-Moa
Post-office and School, eleven miles from Oparau Dairy
Factory, and twenty-five miles from Otorohanga Railway-
station; access by metalled road twenty-three miles and
formed clay road two miles. Easy undulating to broken
country of which approximately 120 acres are ploughable.
Approximately 36 acres of medium pasture ragwort infested,
100 acres in worn-out pasture, 163 acres bush land felled and
grassed (now reverted to fern), balance of area in standing
bush and scrub.

*After payment of the first half-year’s rent and broken
period rent (if any) no rent will be charged for a period of
three years.

Land in Nelson Land District for Selection on Optional Tenure.

District Lands and Survey Office,
Nelson, 18th November, 1936.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section
is open for selection on optional tenure under the
Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the
District Lands and Survey Office, Nelson, up to 4 o’clock p.m.
on Tuesday, 12th January, 1937.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the
District Lands and Survey Office, Nelson, on Thursday,
14th January, 1937, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant
is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land
Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the
examination of applicants.

SCHEDULE.

NELSON LAND DISTRICT.—THIRD-CLASS LAND.

Waimea County.—Wai-iti Survey District.

SECTION 8, Block IX : Area, 44 acres 1 rood 32 perches.
Capital value, £160. Deposit on deferred payments, £10½.
Half-yearly instalment on deferred payments, £4 17s. 6d.
Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £3 4s.

Weighted with £147 10s. (to be paid in cash) for improve-
ments, comprising very old dwelling, hay-shed, 150 chains
boundary and subdivisional fencing, 21 acres cleared and
cultivated.

Situated on the main Motueka Valley Road about half a
mile from Tapawera Post-office, Railway-station, and Sale-
yards; access from Nelson by metalled road. Soil poor to
fair, flat land subject to flooding; watered by Motueka
River. The property is subdivided into eleven paddocks,
and is suitable for mixed farming on a very small scale.

STATE FOREST SERVICE NOTICE.

Milling-timber for Sale by Public Tender.

State Forest Service,
Hokitika, 17th November, 1936.

NOTICE is hereby given that written tenders for the
purchase of the undermentioned milling-timber will
close at the office of the State Forest Service, Hokitika, on
Friday, the 11th day of December, 1936.

SCHEDULE.

WESTLAND FOREST-CONSERVATION REGION.—WESTLAND
LAND DISTRICT.

All the milling-timber on that piece of land containing
384 acres, situated in Blocks IX, X, XIII, and XIV, Ahaura
Survey District, Provisional State Forests 1599, 1695, and 1702,
situated about ten miles from Ngahere Railway-station.

The total estimated quantity of timber in cubic feet is
665,438, or in board feet 4,132,300, made up as follows:—

Upset price: £3,240.

Term of license: Four years.

Terms of Payment.

A marked cheque for one-eleventh of the sum tendered,
together with £1 1s. license fee, must accompany the tender,
and the balance be paid in ten equal quarterly instalments,
the first falling due three months after the date of sale.

Terms and Conditions.

  1. All instalment-payments shall be secured by “on
    demand” promissory notes made and endorsed to the satis-
    faction of the Commissioner of State Forests, and interest at
    the rate of 1 per cent. per annum in excess of current bank
    overdraft rates will be charged on all notes overdue from
    the date of maturity to the date of payment.

  2. The right to cut and remove the timber will be sold in
    accordance with the provisions of the Forests Act, 1921-22,
    the regulations in force thereunder, and these conditions.
