Notice to Mariners No. 51 of 1936.
Marine Department,
Wellington, N.Z., 12th November, 1936.
NEW ZEALAND.—NORTH ISLAND.—AUCKLAND.
Waitemata River: Prohibited Anchorage.
Position: Lat. 36° 47½′ S.; long., 174° 40½′ E. (approx.).
Details: Anchorage is prohibited within 200 ft. on each side of a telegraph cable which has been laid from the northern base of Birkdale Wharf in a 265° line to the air base at Hobsonville. On the western shore two single-pile beacons with a black triangular surmount bearing the word “Cable” in white letters mark the line of cable. The Birkdale end is marked by a beacon of the same description.

Shoal located near Flat Rock.
Position: 136° 4 cables from Flat Rock Light. Lat., 36° 27′ S.; long., 174° 56′ E. (approx.).
Details: A rocky shoal of small area with a least depth of 5 fathoms M.L.W.S. has been located in the above position.

Notice to Mariners No. 53 of 1936.
Marine Department,
Wellington, N.Z., 13th November, 1936.
SOUTH PACIFIC.—COOK ISLANDS.—AITUTAKI.
Aratunga Anchorage: Spit extending.
Position: 303° 8 cables from Observation Spot. Lat., 18° 52′ S.; long., 159° 47′ W. (approx.).
Details: Rautaro Spit, in the above position, is extending in a 340° direction and is now approximately 200 yards from the edge of the reef. Within the extension in an approximate position, 306° 8·8 cables from Observation Spot, the M.V. “Matua” recently struck and dislodged a coral outcrop which carried a depth of about 10 ft. at the time. In view of this information and the probability of other changes having taken place, masters are advised to use caution when working the anchorage.

I, PERCY RUSSELL WILKINSON, Returning Officer for the election of a member of the Marlborough Land Board, do hereby notify in accordance with the provisions of section 47 of the Land Act, 1924, and the regulations made thereunder, that the only person nominated for the vacancy occurring on the said Board was
James Fulton, of Mahakipawa.
I do therefore declare that the said James Fulton is duly elected a member of the Marlborough Land Board for a term of two years as from the 17th day of January, 1937.
