Forms of tender may be procured at any post-office.
The attention of tenderers is directed to the terms and
conditions of contract printed at the back of the tender
forms. Paragraph l, referring to transport licenses, should be
given particular notice.
The attention of tenderers is drawn to the provisions of the
Transport Licensing Act, 1931, with which the successful
tenderer will be required to comply. On those routes affected
the acceptance of the tender for the mail-service and the fulfil-
ment of the mail contract will be contingent on the successful
tenderer's obtaining a passenger or goods license for the route.
The attention of tenderers is expressly directed to clause 5
of the terms and conditions of contracts, which gives the
Postmaster-General the right to fix the hours of departure
and arrival. If a tenderer is not prepared to observe the
existing time-table he is required to attach to his tender a
copy of the time-table proposed.
It is to be clearly understood that all classes of mail matter
shall be conveyed by the contractor unless the conditions of
tender contain a stipulation to the contrary in any respect.
No tender will be considered unless made on the printed
form.
The lowest or any tender will not necessarily be accepted.
Tenders are to be enclosed in sealed envelopes, en faced
"Tenders for Mail-service," and are to be addressed to the
Chief Postmaster of the postal district to which the tender
may specially refer.
G. MCNAMARA,
Director-General.
