Land Surveyor's Examination, September, 1936, Australia and New Zealand.
The Survey Board of New Zealand,
Wellington, 12th August, 1936.
IT is hereby notified for general information that the Survey Board, in conjunction with the Australian Surveyors Boards, will conduct an examination of candidates for registration as surveyor, commencing at 10 a.m. on Monday, 14th September, at Wellington.
Candidates are notified that their applications, on the proper form, must reach the Secretary of the Board not later than Tuesday, 1st September, and that the examination fee must be paid at the same time to the Secretary, from whom application forms and other particulars may be obtained.
Candidates sitting under Rule VIII (1) will be accepted at this examination, and with candidates completing former sittings may sit in other centres where there is a Chief Surveyor's office.
Examination in all subjects, fee of £5 5s. New candidates for the full examination will sit in Wellington.

NOTE.—Rule VIII (1) allows students to sit for subjects 1 to 4 inclusive on completion of two years in Articles, and for such candidates a fee of £2 2s. is payable.

CROWN LANDS NOTICES.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section is open for selection on optional tenures under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, up till 11 o'clock a.m. on Monday, 28th September, 1936.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, on Thursday, 1st October, 1936, at 10.30 o'clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants.
SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND. Tauranga and Rotorua Counties.—Waihi South Survey District.
SECTION 1, Block IX: Area, 510 acres. Capital value, £255. Deposit on deferred payments, £10; Half-yearly instalments on deferred payments, £7 19s. 3d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £5 2s.
Weighted with £20 (to be paid in cash) for improvements, consisting of whare, cow-shed (in poor condition), water-cistern, clearing and grassing, and fencing.
The section is suitable as a run-off area in conjunction with other land held in the locality. Situated on Bush Road, sixteen miles from Te Puke Post-office, eight miles and a half from Pongakawa Railway-station, and sixteen miles and a half from Te Puke Dairy Factory. Access by part metalled road and part pumice road. Easy undulating to hilly land, the only water-supply being by means of cistern. Approximately 250 acres in worn-out pasture, balance in natural state of fern and tea-tree scrub. Ragwort requires attention. Rabbits are numerous.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned lands will be offered for sale by public auction for cash at the District Lands and Survey Office, New Plymouth, on Wednesday, 30th September, 1936, at 2 p.m., under the provisions of the Land Act, 1924.

VILLAGE LAND.
Inglewood County.—Egmont Village.
SECTIONS 152 and 155: Area, 2 roods. Upset price, £9. These sections, which comprise level land, are broken by a creek with easy sloping banks.

FIRST-CLASS LAND.
Stratford County.—Ngatimaru Survey District.
Section 47, Block X: Area, 6 acres 2 roods 32 perches. Upset price, £27.
This section, which was originally the Huiakama Domain, is situated on the Ohura Road, about two miles from Te Wera. It comprises easy country, all ploughable. About half the area is swampy.

One-fifth of the purchase-money to be paid on the fall of the hammer, and the balance, with Crown grant fee of £1, within thirty days thereafter.
