Unclaimed Lands.—Notice by the Public Trustee under the Public Trust Office Act, 1908 (Part II), and its Amendments.

TO the owner of that parcel of land containing 34 acres, more or less, situated in the Province of Auckland and Dominion of New Zealand, and being part of the Waitangi Block, and known as south-eastern portion of Allotment No. 137 of the Parish of Makarau, in the County of Marsden: Bounded towards the north-east by a road 100 links wide, 1035 links; towards the south-east by Allotment No. 138, 3670 links; towards the south-west by a road of width aforesaid, 975 links; and towards the north-west by other portion of Allotment No. 137, 3360 links; be the said measurement a little more or less, and being all the land referred to in conveyance dated the 16th day of March, 1874, from the Superintendent of the Province of Auckland to Caroline Nicholson, wife of Mark Edwin Bullen Nicholson, of Auckland, Doctor of Medicine: Whereas after due inquiry the owner of the above-described land cannot be found: And whereas the said owner has no known agent in New Zealand:

Now, the Public Trustee hereby calls on such owner within six months from the date of the publication of this notice in the New Zealand Gazette to establish to the satisfaction of the Public Trustee the title of such owner to the said land, and if such owner fails or neglects so to do the Public Trustee will exercise with regard to the said land all the powers and authorities granted to him in and by the Public Trust Office Act, 1908 (Part II), and its amendments.

Settlement Land in North Auckland Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.

North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, 10th June, 1936.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section is open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924, and the Land for Settlements Act, 1925; and applications will be received at the North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Monday, 20th July, 1936.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, on Wednesday, 22nd July, 1936, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants.


SCHEDULE.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—SETTLEMENT LAND.

Bay of Islands County.—Omapere Survey District.—Te Pua Settlement.

SECTION 4s: Area, 113 acres 1 rood 24 perches. Capital value, £920; half-yearly rent, £23.

Weighted with the sum of £610 for improvements (see below), of which sum a cash deposit of £60 is required, the balance of purchase-money—viz., £550—to be secured on instalment mortgage under the provisions of the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act, 1915, and amendments, for a term not exceeding thirty-six years and a half.

This property is part of the Te Pua Settlement and is situated two miles from Kaikohe Post-office, two and a quarter miles from Kaikohe School, and three miles from Kaikohe Railway-station, three-quarters of a mile from cream-stand. Section comprises all easy country, about 20 acres being drained swamp in grass, 10 acres unimproved in manuka, balance in grass, principally paspalum. Subdivided into seven paddocks. Suitable for dairying.

Improvements comprise small whare, 16 ft. by 14 ft., three-bail cow-shed and separator-room, 155 chains of boundary and subdivisional fencing, ditching and draining, cultivation, grassing, and surface sowing. Approximately 62 acres have been ploughed and grassed.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Dunedin, on Wednesday, 8th July, 1936, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants.


SCHEDULE.

OTAGO LAND DISTRICT.—THIRD-CLASS LAND.

Clutha County.—Woodland Survey District.

(Exempt from payment of rent for four years.*)

SECTION 10, Block IV: Area, 233 acres 2 roods. Capital value, £60; half-yearly rent, £1 4s.

Weighted with £35 (to be paid in cash) for improvements, comprising garage, road-boundary fencing, and felling and grassing.

The section is situated approximately half a mile from the Houipapa Post-office; access by formed and metalled road. Poor quality land, unsuitable as a separate holding, but would work in with property in the locality.

  • After payment of first half-year’s rent, broken period rent, lease fee, and weighting for improvements, no further rent will be charged for four years.
