Classification of Roads in Hawke’s Bay County.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on me by the Transport Department Act, 1929, and the Heavy Motor-vehicle Regulations, 1932, I, Robert Semple, Minister of Transport, do hereby alter the Hawke’s Bay County Council’s proposed classification and proposed alteration in the classification of the roads described in the Schedule hereto, and situated in the Hawke’s Bay County, and do hereby approve such classification and altered classification as set forth in the said Schedule.

SCHEDULE.

HAWKE’S BAY COUNTY.

ROADS classified in Class Two: Available for the use thereon of any heavy motor-vehicle (other than a multi-axled heavy motor-vehicle) which, with the load it is carrying, weighs not more than 8 tons, or any multi-axled heavy motor-vehicle which, with the load it is carrying, weighs not more than 12 tons:—

Napier–Gisborne via Wairoa Main Highway No. 15 (all that portion from the Napier Borough boundary to its junction with the Petane–Eskdale Main Highway No. 420).

Napier–Hastings via Fernhill Main Highway No. 28 (all that portion from its junction with the Napier–Gisborne Main Highway No. 15 to the northern boundary of Taradale Town District).

Hastings–Waimarama Main Highway No. 527 (all that portion from the south-eastern boundary of Hastings Borough to the north-western boundary of Havelock North Town District).

Roads classified in Class Three: Available for the use thereon of any heavy motor-vehicle (other than a multi-axled heavy motor-vehicle) which, with the load it is carrying, weighs not more than 6½ tons, or any multi-axled heavy motor-vehicle which, with the load it is carrying, weighs not more than 10 tons:—

Napier–Gisborne via Wairoa Main Highway No. 15 (all that portion from its junction with the Petane–Eskdale Main Highway No. 420 to the southern boundary of the Wairoa County).

Napier–Wellington via Wairarapa Main Highway No. 15 (all that portion from its junction with the Farndon–Hastings Main Highway No. 30 to the northern boundary of Patangata County).

Rotorua–Napier Main Highway No. 18 (all that portion from the Te Pohue Post-office to its junction with the Napier–Gisborne Main Highway No. 15).

Napier–Hastings via Fernhill Main Highway No. 28 (all that portion from the southern boundary of the Taradale Town District to the north-western boundary of the Hastings Borough).

Taradale–Rissington Main Highway No. 29 (all that portion within Hawke’s Bay County).

Otane–Tukituki via Elsthorpe Main Highway No. 31 (all that portion within Hawke’s Bay County).

Hastings–Maraekakaho Main Highway No. 76.

Fernhill–Takapau via Maraekakaho Main Highway No. 339 (all that portion within Hawke’s Bay County).

Mangateretere–Havelock North Main Highway No. 416 (all that portion within Hawke’s Bay County).

Hastings–Pakipaki Main Highway No. 417.

Mangateretere–Te Awhanga Main Highway No. 419.

Petane–Eskdale Main Highway No. 420.

Waiohiki–Pakowhai Main Highway No. 495.

Hastings–Waimarama Main Highway No. 527 (all that portion from the eastern boundary of the Havelock North Town District to Waimarama).

Tukituki–Haumoana Beach Main Highway No. 539.

Road classified in Class Four: Available for the use thereon of any heavy motor-vehicle (other than a multi-axled heavy motor-vehicle) which, with the load it is carrying, weighs not more than 4½ tons, or any multi-axled heavy motor-vehicle which, with the load it is carrying, weighs not more than 6½ tons:—

Rotorua–Napier Main Highway No. 18 (all that portion from the south-eastern boundary of the Taupo County to the Te Pohue Post-office).
