to be Assistant Land Registrar and Examiner of Titles at Auckland pursuant to the provisions of section 4 of the Land Transfer Act, 1915, as from the 1st day of May, 1936.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman, Hawke’s Bay Rivers Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.

HAWKE’S BAY RIVERS BOARD.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Hawke’s Bay Rivers District taken on the 25th day of March, 1936, on the proposal to raise by way of loan the sum of £60,000 for the purpose following, that is to say, carrying out the Ngāruroro Flood-control Works described in the Hawke’s Bay Rivers Amendment Act, 1930, as amended by the Hawke’s Bay Rivers Amendment Act, 1932–33, including the acquisition of lands in connection therewith,—

Votes.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was . . 1,001
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 535

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Plants declared to be Noxious Weeds in Kairanga County.—

THE following special order made by the Kairanga County Council on the 7th day of April, 1936, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1928.

SPECIAL ORDER.

In pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred on it by the Noxious Weeds Act, 1928, the Kairanga County Council hereby resolves and declares by way of special order that the plants mentioned in the Schedule hereto (being plants mentioned in the Second Schedule to the said Act, as extended from time to time by the Governor-General in Council) are noxious weeds within the County of Kairanga within the meaning of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1928.

Foxglove.
Wild turnip.
Prickly pear.

That in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by the Noxious Weeds Act, 1928, and all other powers enabling it, the Manawatu County Council by way of special order hereby resolves and declares as follows:—

“That the undermentioned plants (being plants included in the Second Schedule of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1928), shall be deemed to be noxious weeds within the County of Manawatu:—

“Goat’s rue (Galega Officinalis).
“Variegated thistle (Silybum marianum).”
