The first increment of £4 10s.† is granted after completion
of two years’ satisfactory permanent service after passing the
probationary warders’ examination. Thereafter the annual
increments are £9.† On completion of twenty years’ continuous
permanent service a bonus of £10 will be awarded if so
recommended by the Controller-General of Prisons.
