Public Service Salary Scales

Nov. 29.] THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE. 3555

SCALES FOR GENERAL DIVISION.

Workers not otherwise specified receive not less than current award rates or other ruling rates if no award is in existence (subject to adjustment in terms of the National Expenditure Adjustment Act, 1932, and the Finance Act (No. 2), 1934). The scale may be raised slightly or the annual increments varied according to local conditions.

When increments of less than £8 19s. are provided, double increments may be granted in special cases.

In the column "Annual Increments" the normal annual increment is shown. The last increment shall, where necessary, be such lesser sum as will enable the maximum to be attained, but not exceeded.

An officer does not necessarily proceed to the maximum shown. His salary may be fixed at any point between the minimum and the maximum.
