NATIVE-SCHOOL TEACHERS.

The salaries of Native-school teachers carry scale increases generally from the 1st February in each year. The salaries given are those for the calendar year 1935. The increases cannot be specified, as they are subject to varying conditions prescribed by the regulations relating to Native schools and the grading of teachers. “Salary maintained at higher grade” means that, although the grade of the school has fallen, the grades of salary have been maintained in accordance with the provisions of the Native Schools Regulations and the Education Act, 1914, as amended by section 34 of the Finance Act, 1932. Grading increments in accordance with the regulations are included in the salaries shown.
