HEREWITH is published for general information, in accordance with the Land Agents Act, 1921–22, a supplementary list of persons licensed to carry on business as land-agents as on the 31st day of October, 1935.

REGISTER OF LICENSES ISSUED UNDER THE LAND AGENTS ACT, 1921–22.

NOTE.—The Register is arranged alphabetically under the names of holders of licenses; but when an individual holds a license on behalf of a firm or registered company the name of such firm or company, and not the name of the holder of the license, is placed in its alphabetical order.

In the case of a firm or company the name of which consists of the Christian name or names (or initials) and surname or surnames of some person or persons, the index letter is the first letter of the first surname.

Further, where an individual holder of a license trades under a particular name, the trade-name appears in its alphabetical order.

Prohibition of Issue of Money-orders and Transmission of Postal Correspondence.

THE Postmaster-General of the Dominion of New Zealand having reasonable ground for supposing that the person whose name and address are shown in the Schedule hereunder is engaged in promoting or carrying out a lottery or scheme of chance, it is hereby ordered, under section 32 of the Post and Telegraph Act, 1928, that no money-order in favour of the said person shall be issued, and that no postal packet addressed to the said person, or addressed to the address in the Schedule hereunder without a name, shall be either registered or forwarded by the Post Office of New Zealand.

Notice under the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22, and its Amendment, fixing the Closing-hours of Fishmongers’ Shops within the Combined District of Auckland.

WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupiers of all the fishmongers’ shops within the combined district of Auckland, comprising the City of Auckland, the Boroughs of Birkenhead, Devonport, Mount Albert, Mount Eden, New Lynn, Newmarket, Northcote, Onehunga, One Tree Hill, Otahuhu, and Takapuna, and the Town Districts of Ellerslie, Glen Eden, Henderson, and Papatoetoe has been forwarded to me desiring that all such shops within the said combined district shall be closed in the evening of working-days as follows: On Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 7 p.m., and on Fridays and Saturdays at 12 midnight:

And whereas I, Adam Hamilton, Minister of Labour, am satisfied that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the said shops within the said combined district:

Now, therefore, in pursuance of section 32 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22, I do hereby direct that on and after the 15th day of December, 1935, all the said shops within the said combined district shall be closed accordingly.

Notice under the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22, and its Amendment, fixing the Closing-hours of (1) Men’s Hairdressers’ and (2) Tobacconists’ Shops within the Borough of Napier.

WHEREAS a requisition in writing has been forwarded to me from the occupiers of shops in each of the trades of (1) men’s hairdresser and (2) tobacconist within the Borough of Napier pursuant to section 32 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22:

Now, therefore, in pursuance of the said section 32, I, Adam Hamilton, Minister of Labour, do hereby direct that on and after the 15th day of December, 1935, all the said shops in each of the said trades within the said borough shall be closed in the evening of working-days as follows: Subject to closing at not later than 1 p.m. on the day observed as the statutory closing-day on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 6 p.m., on Fridays at 9 p.m., and on Saturdays at 8 p.m., with the following exceptions—(1) Should the occupier of any shop affected by this notice observe pursuant to section 21 (b) of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22, Friday as the statutory closing-day, then and in such case the closing-hour on Wednesday for such shop shall be 9 p.m.; (2) should the occupier of any shop affected by this requisition observe Saturday as the statutory closing-day, then and in such case the closing-hour on Wednesday for such shop shall be 8 p.m., and the closing-hour on Friday for such shop shall be 9 p.m.; (3) in the period from 20th December–31st December in each year, both days inclusive, with the exception of the working-day immediately preceding Christmas Day and of the working-day immediately preceding New Year’s Day, the closing-hour shall be 9 p.m.; (4) on the working-day immediately preceding Good Friday the closing-hour shall be 10 p.m., and on the working-day immediately preceding New Year’s Day the closing-hour shall be 11 p.m.; (5) on the working-day immediately preceding each of the special days other than New Year’s Day and Good Friday, mentioned in or coming within the meaning of section 26 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22, there shall be no fixed closing-hour:

The notice gazetted on the 1st September, 1932, fixing the closing-hours of (1) men’s hairdressers’ and (2) tobacconists’ shops in the Borough of Napier shall be and is hereby cancelled as from the date of the coming into operation of this notice:

And whereas the said requisition is signed by not less than two-thirds of the occupiers of tobacconists’ shops within the said borough, notice is hereby given that, pursuant to section 25 of the Shops and Offices Amendment Act, 1927, all other shops within the said borough in which smoking requisites are sold shall be closed at the same hours as are set out herein for tobacconists’ shops.
