League of Nations Sanctions (Financial) Regulations, 1935.

IT is hereby notified for general information that under the authority conferred by clause 2 of the League of Nations Sanctions (Financial) Regulations, 1935, I have appointed the Governor of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand as the person from whom permission in writing must be obtained to the sending out of New Zealand of any remittances for any of the purposes specified in such regulations.

BOROUGH OF WESTPORT.

Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise Loan.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of ratepayers of the Borough of Westport taken on Friday, the 18th day of October, 1935, on the proposal of the Westport Borough Council to borrow the sum of £15,000 for the purpose of tar-sealing the borough streets and footpaths, the following votes were recorded :-

Votes.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was .. 455
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 54
The number of informal votes was .. Nil

I, the undersigned, Mayor of the Borough of Westport, therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Prohibition of Issue of Money-orders and Transmission of Postal Correspondence.

THE Postmaster-General of the Dominion of New Zealand having reasonable ground for supposing that the persons whose names and addresses are shown in the Schedule hereunder are engaged in promoting or carrying out a lottery or scheme of chance, it is hereby ordered, under section 32 of the Post and Telegraph Act, 1928, that no money-order in favour of any of the said persons shall be issued, and that no postal packet addressed to any of the said persons (either by their own or any assumed or fictitious names), or addressed to any of the addresses in the Schedule hereunder without a name, shall be either registered or forwarded by the Post Office of New Zealand.

THE following special order made by the Waitotara County Council on the 14th day of October, 1935, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1928.

SPECIAL ORDER.

THAT in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on it by the Noxious Weeds Act, 1928, the Waitotara County Council hereby resolves and declares by special order that the plant mentioned in the Schedule hereto (being a plant mentioned in the Second Schedule in the said Act) is a noxious weed within the County of Waitotara.
