Delivery of Goods and Minimum Charges, South Island Main Line and Branches.
As provided hereunder, goods of Classes A, B, C, and D (except in the case of such goods which require special delivery arrangements) consigned as under will be delivered within the area specified by the Department in that behalf :—

General Delivery.		Special Delivery as per Local Rates.

	Otautau.	Christchurch–Hornby–Papanui, inclusive	Amberley.
			Waipara.
			Waikari.
			Waiau.
			Mina.
		Christchurch or Papanui	Methven.
		Christchurch and stations to Hornby inclusive, or Papanui	Ashburton.
		Christchurch or Papanui	Waimate.
		Christchurch	Oamaru (goods of Class A only).
		Ashburton	Christchurch (butter and cheese only).
		*Timaru	Waimate.
		Dunedin, Caversham, or Burnside	Oamaru.
			Balclutha.
			Gore.
		Invercargill	Gore.

Local rate includes collection within the area determined by the Department in that behalf.

Except as otherwise provided, minimum charges on goods consigned to a station where a general delivery is made will be as follow :—

Haulage and Shunting Charges, Christchurch, Riccarton, and Addington.
Except where otherwise specified, the charge for haulage between Government sheds at Christchurch will be as follows :—

Goods not otherwise specified (minimum charge, 9d.) .. 1 5 per ton.

All goods carried between private sidings and station yards at Riccarton and private sidings and station yards at Addington will be charged 1s. 5d. per ton or part of a ton; minimum charge, 7s.
Grain in lots of not less than 20 tons carried between private sidings and station yards at Christchurch and private sidings and station yards at Riccarton will be charged at 2s. 5d. per ton.
Grain in lots of not less than 6 tons carried between private sidings and station yards at Christchurch and the private sidings and station yards at Addington will be charged 2s. 5d. per ton.
Through Traffic, Paparoa Coal Company’s Line.

Goods and parcels booked between stations on the Government railway and Roa (Paparoa Coal Company’s line) will, in addition to the classified or local rates on the Government railway, be charged as follows for conveyance between Blackball and Roa :—

Hydraulic Cranes, Greymouth.

Loading or unloading by hydraulic cranes will be performed at the option of the Department, and except as otherwise provided the charge will be 8d. per ton, with a minimum charge of 3s. 6d. per lift.

Special lifts (as determined by the Department) will be at a rate per lift or otherwise as may be determined by the Stationmaster, Greymouth.

Minimum charge for hydraulic crane when specially ordered, 56s.
