Appointments in the Public Service.

THE Acting Public Service Commissioner has made the following appointments in the Public Service :—

to be Clerk and Bailiff of the Magistrates’ Court at Ruatoria for the purposes of the Magistrates’ Courts Act, 1928, as from the 1st day of October, 1935.

Constable James Michael Fleming,

to be Bailiff of the Magistrates’ Court at Eltham for the purposes of the Magistrates’ Courts Act, 1928, as from the 9th day of October, 1935.

Mrs. Elizabeth Ambrose Jones,

to be Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at Kauangaroa, as from the 1st day of October, 1935.

Duncan Ritchie Ingram,

to be Registrar of Marriages and Registrar of Births and Deaths for the District of Otorohanga, and Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at Otorohanga, as from the 1st day of October, 1935.

Herbert Fisher Alen,

to be Deputy Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at Tolaga Bay, as from the 1st day of October, 1935.

Approving of Testing Officers under the Motor-Drivers’ Regulations, 1931.

IN terms of Regulation 5 of the Motor-drivers’ Regulations, 1931, I, Joseph Gordon Coates, Minister of Transport, do hereby approve until further notice of the persons named in Column 2 of the Schedule hereunder being Testing Officers under the said regulations for the local authority described in Column 1 of the said Schedule.

Regulations as to Drainage and Plumbing under the Health Act, 1920, applied to the Borough of Morrinsville.— (H.H. 4/21.)

Wellington, 14th October, 1935.

WHEREAS by an Order in Council made on the 3rd day of September, 1923, and gazetted on the 6th day of the same month, regulations (to be cited as “the Drainage and Plumbing Regulations”) were made under the Health Act, 1920, prescribing the conditions to be observed in the construction of approved drains, septic tanks, sanitary conveniences, and sanitary appliances :

And whereas by the said regulations it was provided that the same were suspended as provided in the said Act :

And whereas by section 133 of the said Act it is enacted that the operation of any such regulation may, if so provided therein, be wholly suspended until they are applied by the Minister by notice in the Gazette to any part of New Zealand :

Now, therefore, I, James Alexander Young, Minister of Health, in exercise of the power and authority given by the said regulations and by section 133 of the said Act, do hereby apply the said regulations to the Borough of Morrinsville, and do hereby declare that this notice shall take effect on the 1st November, 1935.

Notice respecting Proposed Alteration of Boundaries.—Thames Valley Drainage District, Counties of Hauraki Plains, Piako, and Matamata.

IT is hereby notified that a petition has been presented to His Excellency the Governor-General, under the Land Drainage Act, 1908, and amendments, praying that the area described in the Schedule hereto may be included in the Thames Valley Drainage District.

All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the proposed alteration of boundaries which they desire to lodge within one month from the first publication of this notice, such objections or petitions to be addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.

AREA PROPOSED TO BE INCLUDED IN THE THAMES VALLEY DRAINAGE DISTRICT.

ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, bounded on the north-west, north, and east by the Thames Valley Drainage District as described in New Zealand Gazette, 1933, page 1859, from the south-eastern boundary of Section 5 as shown on plan 64, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Auckland, to the south-eastern corner of Section 105, Matamata Settlement, Block VI, Tapapa Survey District; thence southerly along the western boundary of the Auckland-Rotorua railway to the road forming the south-eastern boundary of Section 99, Block VI, Tapapa Survey District; thence south-westerly along the road forming the south-eastern boundary of Section 99, Block VI, and Section 98, Block IX, Tapapa Survey District, to the southernmost corner of the last-mentioned section; thence south-westerly along the road forming the south-eastern boundary of Section 97, said Block IX, to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Section 96, Block IX aforesaid; thence south-easterly along the south-western boundary of Section 96, Block IX, Tapapa Survey District, to the southernmost corner of the said Section 96; thence south-westerly along the south-eastern boundary of Part 1B 1A, Hinuera Block, and the south-eastern boundary of Lots 3 and 6 on plan 12929, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Auckland, to the southernmost corner of the said Lot 6; thence north-westerly along the south-western boundary of the said Lot 6 and its production across a public road to the stream forming the south-eastern boundary of Section 122, Block IX, Tapapa Survey District; thence along that stream to the western boundary of Section 122, Block IX aforesaid; thence northerly along that boundary to Bucklands Road; thence along that road to the road forming the western boundary of part Section 121; thence northerly along the road forming the western boundary of part Section 121 and Section 120 to the northernmost corner of the said Section 120; thence along the road forming the northern boundary of Section 119, Block VI, Tapapa Survey District, to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Lot 1 on plan 12525 deposited as aforesaid; thence northerly along that boundary to the north-eastern corner of the said Lot 1; thence along the northern boundary of that lot to its north-western corner;
