Fireblight Committee Elections under the Fireblight Committee Regulations, 1928.

DECLARATION OF ELECTION OF MEMBERS OF THE FIREBLIGHT COMMITTEE OF THE MARLBOROUGH COMMERCIAL FRUIT-GROWING DISTRICT.

I, JOHN GRAY, Returning Officer for the purposes of the Fireblight Committee elections under the Fireblight Committee Regulations, 1928, do hereby declare that the following candidates have been duly nominated for the election of members of the Fireblight Committee of the Marlborough Commercial Fruitgrowing District, nominations for which closed at Wellington at noon on the 31st day of July, 1935 :—

Hair, Donald.
Harper, Leonard Alfred.
McKerral, Edward.
Robinson, Harry Leng.
Sanders, Royston Douglas.

As the number of candidates nominated does not exceed the number of members to be elected (5), I hereby declare the said Donald Hair, Leonard Alfred Harper, Edward McKerral, Harry Leng Robinson, and Royston Douglas Sanders to be duly elected.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned sections will be offered for sale by public auction for cash or on deferred payments at the District Lands and Survey Office, State Fire Insurance Building, Wellington, on Wednesday, 18th September, 1935, at 2.30 o’clock p.m., under the provisions of the Land for Settlements Act, 1925.

SCHEDULE.

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.—TOWN (SETTLEMENT) LAND.

Petone Borough.—Belmont Survey District.—Wilford Settlement.

SECTION 5, Block VII : Area, 25·63 perches. Upset price, £250.

Weighted with the sum of £4 1s. (payable in cash on the fall of the hammer) for improvements, consisting of fencing. A good building section with frontage of 50 ft. 10 in. to North Street, practically opposite Ava Railway-station.

City of Palmerston North.—Loughnan Settlement.

Section 46 : Area, 35·6 perches. Upset price, £115.

A good level section suitable for building purposes situated with a frontage to Limbrick Street, one mile and three-quarters from post-office, two miles from railway-station, and half a mile from Terrace End School. City water-supply available.

Land in Canterbury Land District for License by Public Tender.

District Lands and Survey Office,
Christchurch, 14th August, 1935.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned land will be offered for license by public tender—written tenders, marked on the outside “Tender,” will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Christchurch, up to 4 o’clock p.m., on Friday, 6th September, 1935, under the provisions of the Land Act, 1924, and the Land for Settlements Act, 1925.

SCHEDULE.

CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.—FIRST-CLASS LAND.

Ellesmere County.—Southbridge Survey District.—Homebrook Settlement.

SECTIONS 4B and 4C : Area, 67 acres 2 roods 39 perches. Minimum annual rental, £50 10s.

These subdivisions comprise part of Homebrook Settlement and are situated two miles from Southbridge Post-office, School, and Railway-station. The areas are watered by county water-race, and the soil is light loam resting on shingle formation.

Section 4B is subdivided into three paddocks, and Section 4C subdivided into two paddocks.

Improvements on the areas offered and remaining the property of the Crown are as follows : Lot 4B, £6 for fencing ; Lot 4C, £2 for fencing.

Abstract of Terms and Conditions of License.

  1. A half-year’s rent at the rate offered and £1 1s. license fee to accompany each tender.

  2. Term of license, five years from the 1st March, 1936, together with the period elapsing from the date of acceptance of tender to the 1st March, 1936, with no right of renewal.

  3. Possession to be given on acceptance of tender.

  4. Licensee to be liable for payment of all rates, taxes, and other assessments during the period of the license.

  5. Licensee to have no right to mortgage, charge, assign, sublet, transfer, or otherwise dispose of the land or any portion of the land comprised in the license.

  6. Licensee to at all times prevent the growth and spread of gorse, sweetbrier, broom, or other noxious weeds or plants, and with all reasonable despatch to remove or cause to be removed all such noxious weeds or plants as may be directed by the Commissioner of Crown Lands.

  7. Licensee will not be entitled to compensation for any improvements effected by him on the land, but may on the expiry or sooner determination of the license remove any buildings or fencing erected by him other than boundary-fences, but not otherwise.

  8. The licensee shall have the right to cultivate the area, provided, however, that no white crops shall be grown and the whole area shall be left in English grasses at the end of the term of the license.

  9. The license is subject to cancellation and forfeiture without notice in the event of non-fulfilment or breach of any of the conditions or obligations herein contained or implied.
