Approving of Testing Officers under the Motor-drivers' Regulations, 1931.
IN terms of Regulation 5 of the Motor-drivers' Regulations, 1931, I, James Alexander Young, Acting Minister of Transport, do hereby approve until further notice of the persons named in Column 2 of the Schedule hereunder being Testing Officers under the said regulations for the local authorities described in Column 1 of the said Schedule.

Constituting a Recognized Aviation Authority.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred on me by section 3 of the Local Authorities Empowering (Aviation Encouragement) Act, 1929, I, John George Cobbe, Minister of Defence for the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby recognize for the purpose of that Act the undermentioned aviation authority:—

Prohibition of Issue of Money-orders and Transmission of Postal Correspondence.
THE Postmaster-General of the Dominion of New Zealand having reasonable ground for supposing that the person whose name and address is shown in the Schedule hereunder is engaged in promoting or carrying out a lottery or scheme of chance, it is hereby ordered, under section 32 of the Post and Telegraph Act, 1928, that no money-order in favour of the said person shall be issued, and that no postal packet addressed to the said person (either by her own or any fictitious or assumed name), or addressed to the address in the Schedule hereunder without a name, shall be either registered or forwarded by the Post Office of New Zealand.

THE following resolution passed by the Franklin County Council on the 25th day of March, 1935, is published in accordance with the provisions of section 7 (2) of the Noxious Weeds Amendment Act, 1934.
RESOLUTION.
“THAT on the recommendation of the Finance Committee this Council takes all necessary steps under the Noxious Weeds Amendment Act, 1934–35, to assume the administration of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1928, and its amendments within Franklin County as from the 1st day of July, 1935, and that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Honourable the Minister of Agriculture for publication in the New Zealand Gazette.”

New Zealand Government Railways.—Notice to Sawmillers.
THE Government Railways Board is offering for sale by public tender the timber (principally rimu) in its forest near Pokaka in the Ohakune railway district. The forest has been divided into four lots. Two lots are for immediate sale, and the purchasers of these will be given the first refusal of the remaining two when the present lots are cut out. The particulars and conditions of sale may be inspected at the offices of the Railway District Engineers at Auckland, Wanganui, Ohakune, Wellington, Christchurch, Dunedin, and Invercargill, and of the Railway Forestry Officer at Wellington.
Tenders will close on 10th September, 1935.
