Applicants should appear personally before the Land
Board for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office,
Wellington, on Wednesday, 26th June, 1935, at 10.30 o'clock
a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be
examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner
of Crown Lands.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the
examination of applicants.
SCHEDULE.
WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.-SECOND-CLASS LAND.
Hutt County.—Belmont Survey District.—Normandale Settlement.
SECTIONS 45, 47, 48, and 49, Block VIII : Area, 140 acres
0 roods 9 perches. Capital value, £505; half-yearly rent,
£12 12s. 6d. Half-yearly instalment of principal and interest
on account of buildings (see below), £7 16s.
The buildings, to be paid for as stated above over a term of
twenty-one years, comprise a dwelling in fair condition ;
requires some expenditure on repairs.
This property is situated at Normandale, two miles and a
half from Lower Hutt Post-office and one mile and a half from
Normandale School. Access by metalled road two miles from
Lower Hutt Railway-station. The soil is of very poor quality
resting on rock formation; well watered. All hilly land with
about 20 acres ploughable. Gorse and broom are in control
of the area and constant attention will be required to deal
with those weeds. Suitable principally for grazing, although
a few dairy cows might probably be run. Most suitable for a
settler with capital or an adjoining owner.
Improvements on the area, the value of which is included in
capital value of £505, comprise felling and grassing whole area,
50 acres of stumping, and 150 chains boundary and internal
fencing.
