RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

Unemployment Relief Loan, 1934, £68,000.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926, and of all other powers thereunto enabling it, the Auckland City Council hereby resolves as follows:—

“ That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges in respect of the sum of £33,000 and the half-yearly instalments of principal and interest and other charges in respect of the sum of £35,000 on a loan of £68,000 authorized to be raised by the Auckland City Council under the above-mentioned Acts for the purpose of carrying out works for the relief of unemployment, the said Auckland City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one halfpenny (½d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the annual value) of all rateable property comprising the whole of the City of Auckland, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the first day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty (20) years in respect of £33,000 of the said loan and twenty-five (25) years in respect of £35,000 balance of the said loan or until the whole of the said loan is fully paid off.”

Victoria Arcade and Expired Leases Compensation Loan, 1934, £27,400.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926, section 8 of the Local Legislation Act, 1934, and of all other powers thereunto enabling it, the Auckland City Council hereby resolves as follows:—

“ That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of twenty-seven thousand four hundred pounds (£27,400) authorized to be raised by the Auckland City Council under the above-mentioned Acts for the following purposes:—

“ (a) Providing funds for the payment of compensation payable under any leases granted by the Council or its predecessors in title which have already expired or will expire during the period from the first day of April, nineteen hundred and thirty-three, to the thirty-first day of March, nineteen hundred and thirty-five

“ (b) Providing funds for the cost of alterations, improvements, and repairs to buildings the leases of which have already expired or will expire during the aforesaid period, including the buildings known as Victoria Arcade, in the City of Auckland

the said Auckland City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-fourth (1/4th) of one penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property comprising the whole of the City of Auckland, and that such special rate be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the first day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of fifteen (15) years from the first day of March, 1935, or until the loan is fully paid off.”
