Lands in the Auckland and Southland Land Districts forfeited.

NOTICE is hereby given that the leases and licenses of the undermentioned lands having been declared forfeited by resolutions of the Land Boards of the respective land districts, the said lands have thereby reverted to the Crown under the provisions of the Land Act, 1924, the Land for Settlements Act, 1925, and the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act, 1915.

Lands in Auckland Land District for Selection.
District Lands and Survey Office,
Auckland, 7th May, 1935.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned sections are open for selection under the Land Act, 1924, and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Friday, the 21st June, 1935.
The land described in the First Schedule may, at the option of the applicants, be purchased for cash, or on deferred payments, or be selected on renewable lease. The lands described in the Second Schedule may be selected on renewable lease only.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, on Tuesday, the 25th June, 1935, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.
SECOND-CLASS LANDS.
Raglan County.—Parish of Karioi.
ALLOTMENT 126: Area, 252 acres 2 roods 31 perches. Capital value, £200. Deposit on deferred payments, £10: Half-yearly instalment on deferred payments, £6 3s. 6d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £4.
Weighted with £45 (to be paid in cash) for improvements, consisting of dwelling, clearing and grassing, cultivating, approximately 36 chains subdivisional fencing.
A grazing property, situated on a by-road, partly metalled and partly clay, formed off the Kawhia Road, thirty-five miles from Frankton Junction Railway-station, fifteen miles from the Raglan Dairy Factory, and nine miles from Kauroa Saleyards. Land undulating to hilly, covered with stunted fern and manuka, mostly ploughable.
Approximately 7 acres in poor pasture, 1 acre garden, 10 acres of undrainable swamp, balance of section in natural state with scattered patches of inferior grass. A little gorse, blackberry, and ragwort in evidence. Not considered suitable as a separate holding.
Rotorua County.—Maketu Survey District.

Section 3A, Block XIII: Area, 196 acres. Capital value, £100. Deposit on deferred payments, £5: Half-yearly instalment on deferred payments, £3 1s. 9d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £2.
Weighted with £85 (to be paid in cash) for improvements, consisting of water-supply, clearing and grassing, 60 chains of road-boundary fencing, 20 chains of subdivisional fencing, half-share in 30 chains of boundary fencing.
A grazing property, situated on the Mangatoi-Te Puke Road, eleven miles from Te Puke Railway-station, Dairy Factory, and Saleyards. Access by partly metalled and partly clay road. Approximately 50 acres of worn-out pasture (ragwort-infested), balance of section in natural state (partly bush and partly fern). Water supplied by a pipe-line. Ragwort requires attention. This property is more suitable for use in conjunction with other land in the locality than as a separate holding.
Otorohanga County.—Pirongia Survey District.
Section 8, Block X: Area, 288 acres 1 rood. Capital value, £150. Deposit on deferred payments, £5: Half-yearly instalment on deferred payments, £4 14s. 3d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £3.
Weighted with £72 for improvements, consisting of whare, cow-shed, approximately 40 chains road-boundary fencing, half-share in 80 chains boundary fencing, 10 acres cleared and ploughed. Payable either in cash or £2 deposit, the balance of £70 to remain on instalment-mortgage to the State Advances Superintendent over a period of twenty years with interest at 5½ per cent.; half-yearly instalment of principal and interest combined £2 18s. 2d.
A mixed farming proposition (grazing cattle and sheep at present time), situated on the Kawhia-Pirongia Road, sixteen miles from Te Kawa Railway-station, eighteen miles from Otorohanga Dairy Factory. Land undulating to broken at the back. Soil light loam resting on sandstone and rubble formation; watered by running streams. Approximately 10 acres in worn-out pasture, 278 acres reverted to fern scrub and blackberry. Ragwort and blackberry require immediate attention.
Hauraki Plains County.—Piako Survey District.
Section 3, Block VII: Area, 447 acres. Capital value, £225. Deposit on deferred payments, £10: Half-yearly instalment on deferred payments, £6 19s. 9d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £4 10s.
Weighted with £75 (to be paid in cash) for improvements, consisting of outhouse (partly demolished), clearing and grassing and half-share in 160 chains of boundary fencing.
This land, which is suitable as a grazing run-off for a Hauraki Plains farmer, is situated on the North Road-Mangatarata Road, thirty-two miles from Paeroa Railway-station and seven miles from the Waitakaruru Cheese-factory and Saleyards. Undulating to hilly, broken in places by gullies. Mainly open fern country with some 60 to 70 acres bush in the gullies. Approximately 20 acres surface sown (reverting to fern and tea-tree) and 427 acres in natural state. Watered by permanent streams.
THIRD-CLASS LAND.
Tauranga County.—Maketu Survey District.
Section 28, Block V: Area, 875 acres. Capital value, £220. Deposit on deferred payments, £10: Half-yearly instalment on deferred payments, £6 16s. 6d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £4 8s.
