A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS, in accordance with the provisions of section one hundred and thirty-five of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, a petition was presented to the Governor-General praying that the area described in the said petition be constituted a new borough:
And whereas the provisions of the said section one hundred and thirty-five have been complied with in respect thereto, and the result of the poll taken on the proposal that the area should be constituted a new borough was in favour thereof:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, I, Sir Michael Myers, the Administrator of the Government of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the area described in the Schedule hereto shall be constituted a borough under the said Act on the first day of April, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-five; that the name of such borough shall be the Borough of Te Puke; and that the number of Councillors to be elected to the Council of the said borough shall be six exclusive of the Mayor:
And I do further proclaim and declare that Horace William Earp, Esquire, of Te Puke, shall be the Returning Officer to conduct the first election of Mayor and Councillors of the said borough; and that the said Horace William Earp shall be the Town Clerk and the person to prepare the district electors roll for the purposes of the said first election:
And, lastly, I do proclaim and declare that the first election of Mayor and Councillors of the said borough shall be held on Wednesday, the first day of May, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-five, and that the first meeting of the Council of the said borough shall be held on Wednesday, the eighth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-five, at half past seven o’clock in the afternoon, in the office of the Te Puke Town Board, Te Puke.
SCHEDULE.
BOROUGH OF TE PUKE.
ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, situated in Block II, Maketu Survey District: Bounded by a line commencing at the north-western corner of Section No. 12, Block II aforesaid, on the eastern side of No. 3 Road; thence along the northern and eastern boundaries of the said Section No. 12 and the eastern boundary of Section No. 11 to the north-western corner of Section No. 15; thence along the northern boundary of that section to the north-western corner of the subdivision of the said Section No. 15, shown on plan No. 6691, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Auckland; thence along the western and southern boundaries of that subdivision to No. 2 Road; thence along the western side of that road to a point in line with the southern boundary of Section No. 19; thence across No. 2 Road and along its eastern side to the north-western corner of Section No. 19 aforesaid; thence along the northern boundary of that section to and across No. 1 Road; thence northerly along the eastern side of that road, across the main Tauranga–Rotorua Road, and along its eastern side to the north-western corner of Section No. 22 (cemetery reserve); thence along a right line to a point on the northern boundary of the eastern portion of Section No. 21, distant 250 links from the north-western corner of the said eastern portion of Section No. 21; thence westerly along the northern boundaries of the eastern and western portions of the said Section No. 21 for a distance of 500 links; thence northerly at right angles to the last-mentioned boundary to a point in line with the northern boundary of Section No. 35; thence westerly to and along the northern boundary of the said Section No. 35 and that boundary produced to the eastern boundary of Section No. 56; thence along a right line parallel to the south-western boundary of that section to the southern boundary of Section No. 55; thence westerly along the southern boundary of that section and along its western boundary to the road forming the northern boundary of Section No. 60; thence along the southern side of that road to the main Tauranga–Rotorua Road; thence along the eastern side of that road to a point in line with the eastern side of No. 3 Road; thence across the Tauranga–Rotorua Road and along the eastern side of No. 3 Road to the place of commencement, as set out in New Zealand Gazette No. 37, at page 1503.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Administrator of the Government of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 28th day of March, 1935.
