NOTES.—(i) In addition to the salary payable above there shall be added by way of salary the sum of £29/18/6 per annum in the case of every assistant teacher who is obliged to live away from home. (ii) Uncertificated sole or head teachers who are not holders of licenses to teach will be paid salaries according to the following scales : Grade I, £143/13/0–£170/12/0; Grade II, £179/11/0–£224/9/0; Grade III (a) or III (b), £224/9/0–£242/8/0; Grade III (c), £225/8/0–£259/9/0; Grade IV, £259/9/0–£284/19/0; with annual increments of £9 in every case. (iii) A deduction of £9/0/0 (or £8/19/0) per annum shall be made from the salary provided above in the case of every uncertificated assistant teacher who is not the holder of a license to teach, except in cases of salaries of £58/8/0–£76/7/0 and £76/7/0–£94/6/0. (iv) The annual increments for head teachers shall be £13½; and for assistant teachers shall be £13½ in the case of assistants receiving salaries of £148/3/0–£188/11/0, and £9* in every other case.
