Fireblight Committee Election under the Fireblight Committee Regulations, 1928.

DECLARATION OF ELECTION OF MEMBERS OF THE FIREBLIGHT COMMITTEE OF THE HAWKE'S BAY COMMERCIAL FRUIT-GROWING DISTRICT.

I, JOHN GRAY, Returning Officer for the purpose of the Fireblight Committee elections under the Fireblight Committee Regulations, 1928, do hereby declare that the following candidates have been duly nominated for the election of members of the Fireblight Committee of the Hawke's Bay Commercial Fruitgrowing District, nominations for which closed at Wellington at noon on the 5th day of December, 1934:—

Holmes, Stanley.
McLeod, Donald Sinclair.
Mitchell, Thomas.
Paynter, Ralph.
Robertson, Alexander Morris.

As the number of candidates nominated does not exceed the number of members to be elected (5), I hereby declare the said Stanley Holmes, Donald Sinclair McLeod, Thomas Mitchell, Ralph Paynter, and Alexander Morris Robertson to be duly elected.

Notice by the Public Trustee under the Public Trust Office Act, 1908 (Part III), and Amendments.

WHEREAS it has been reported to the Public Trustee that HENRY MARTEN, of Ellerbeck, near Leithfield, in the Provincial District of Canterbury, in the Dominion of New Zealand, Farmer, is the owner of the following property, the gross value of which is less than £1,000, namely, the proceeds of Life Policy No. 11196 in the Government Life Insurance Department, now amounting to £107 11s.: And whereas it is not known where the said Henry Marten is or whether he is alive or dead: And whereas it is provided by Part III of the Public Trust Office Act, 1908 (relating to unclaimed property), as amended by section 41 of the Public Trust Office Amendment Act, 1921–22, that where the value of unclaimed real or personal property does not exceed £1,000 the Public Trustee (with the consent of the Public Trust Office Board) may, by notice in the Gazette, declare his intention of taking possession of such property and exercising the powers conferred upon him by section 87 of the Public Trust Office Act, 1908, without application to the Court: And whereas the said consent of the Public Trust Office Board has been duly given: Now, the Public Trustee hereby gives notice that he intends to take possession of the personal property above mentioned and all other property of the said Henry Marten and to exercise in respect thereof the powers conferred upon him in and by the provisions of the Public Trust Office Act, 1908, and its amendments.

District Lands and Survey Office,

Invercargill, 12th December, 1934.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section is open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Invercargill, up to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, 22nd January, 1935.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the Lands and Survey Office, Invercargill, on Thursday, 24th January, 1935, at 10 a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands. The ballot will be held immediately upon the conclusion of the examination of applicants.

SCHEDULE.

SOUTHLAND LAND DISTRICT.—THIRD-CLASS LAND.

Southland County.—Campbelltown Hundred.

(Exempt from payment of rent for ten years.)

SECTION 8, Block X: Area, 820 acres 3 roods. Capital value, £205; half-yearly rent, £4 2s.

Situated about nine miles from Timpany’s Siding. About two-thirds of the area is land of fair quality, the remainder being inferior peat and moss, covered with manuka scrub. Altitude about 65 ft. above sea-level.

Special Condition.—After the first half-year’s rent, broken period rent, and lease fee have been paid, no further rent will be payable for a period of ten years.
