Amendment of the Scheme for the Control of the Otago Boys’ and Girls’ High Schools.

Wellington, 8th December, 1934.
IN accordance with the provisions of the Education Act, 1914, and with the powers thereunder, I, Sydney George Smith, Minister of Education, do hereby approve of the following amendments of the scheme of control of the Otago Boys’ and Girls’ High Schools.
AMENDMENTS OF SCHEME OF CONTROL.
The scheme of control, approved and gazetted as shown in the Schedule hereto, is hereby further amended—

As to clause 2, subclause (3), by deleting the words “at the end of the term preceding the closing of the roll” from the definition of a “pupil of the school.”

As to clause 3, subclause (1), by adding the proviso—
“Provided that the Board may in its discretion decide that an election to fill a casual vacancy be not held if such vacancy occurs after the month of February in a year in which an ordinary election is held and before the persons elected at such ordinary election assume office.”

Mining Privileges to be struck off the Register.—Notice under the Mining Act, 1926.

NOTICE is hereby given in pursuance of the provisions of section 188 (3) of the Mining Act, 1926, that, unless sufficient cause to the contrary is shown within three months from the date hereof, the mining privileges mentioned in the Schedule hereto will be struck off the Register.
