Extending Time for holding General Election of Members of the Cobden Town Board.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 17th day of September, 1934.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section twenty of the Town Boards Act, 1908, it is provided that the general election of members of the various Town Boards throughout the Dominion shall be held on the third Wednesday in September in every second year:
And whereas an election of members of the Cobden Town Board is required to be held on Wednesday, the nineteenth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-four; but the precedent steps for the holding of the election on the aforesaid date have not been taken:
And whereas it is expedient to extend the time for holding such election of members of the Cobden Town Board:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the Town Boards Act, 1908, and the Local Elections and Polls Act, 1925, and of all other powers and authorities in anywise enabling him in this behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby extend the time for holding the aforesaid general election of members for the Cobden Town District, and doth hereby order and declare that in the aforesaid Town District the said general election shall be held and take place on Wednesday, the twenty-fourth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-four.
