Notice to Mariners No. 33 of 1934.

NEW ZEALAND.—NORTH ISLAND.—TAURANGA HARBOUR.
(1) Beacon and Light established. (2) Jetty and Light established. (3) Alteration in Buoys. (4) Light discontinued.
Position: Lat., 37° 39′ S.; long., 176° 10′ E. (approx.).
(1) A red four-pile beacon has been erected in 16 ft. M.L.W.S. in a position 104° 550 yards from Stony Point beacon. A flashing green light, showing a flash of 0·3 second every 3 seconds, visible 3 miles, is exhibited from the beacon at an elevation of 14 ft.
(2) A jetty, extending 250° for 214 ft. from a position 306° 70 yards from the water-tower northward of the Railway Workshop at the Mount, has been erected for the use of small craft.
Two fixed lights, red over white, visible 2 miles, are exhibited from the outer end of the jetty at heights of 25 ft. and 30 ft. respectively.
The lights are visible from 358° through east to 133°.
These bearings pass through No. 2 black buoy and the concrete jetty in Pilot Bay.
(3) No. 2 red buoy is now No. 3, and has been moored in 18 ft. M.L.W.S. in a position 250° 270 yards from the end of the jetty in (2).
(4) The flashing light in Whareroa beacon has been discontinued. The beacon now carries a black cage surmount.
