authorities thereof to secure the payment of such contributions upon the City of Auckland (portion) and the Suburban Boroughs of Newmarket, Mount Eden, Mount Albert, and One Tree Hill (portion), and the Road District of Mount Roskill (portion).
The foregoing special order was made by way of a special resolution passed at a special meeting of the Auckland and Suburban Drainage Board convened by requisition of the Chairman dated the 25th day of June, 1934, and held on the 28th day of June, 1934. It was publicly notified in the New Zealand Herald on the 30th day of June, 1934, and the 11th and 25th days of July, 1934, and the Auckland Star on the 4th and 18th days of July, 1934. It was confirmed at a special meeting of the Board convened by resolution of the Board on the 28th day of June, 1934, and held on the 26th day of July, 1934.
The common seal of the Auckland and Suburban Drainage Board was hereto affixed this twenty-sixth day of July, 1934, in the presence of—

MOUNT HERBERT COUNTY COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
Under Section 21 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, the Mount Herbert County Council hereby resolves as follows:-
“ That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £1,500 authorized to be raised by the Mount Herbert County Council under the abovementioned Act for public work, known as the Purau- Charteris Bay Road (Unemployment Relief), the said Mount Herbert County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-eleventh of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property of the Special Loan Area of the Purau-Charteris Bay Road (Unemployment Relief) Loan, 1933, comprising the whole of the County of Mount Herbert, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable half-yearly on the twelfth day of June and the twelfth day of December in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten years or until the loan is paid off.”

NOTICE is hereby given that on the 28th day of July, 1934, the company passed the following extraordinary resolution :-
“The company being unable by reason of its liabilities to continue and it being advisable that the company be wound up it is hereby resolved that the company be wound up, and that Mr. H. M. FRASER (A.P.A.N.Z.), of Auckland, Public Accountant, be appointed liquidator for the purposes of such winding-up.”

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.
In the matter of the Counties Act, 1920, and of the Public Works Act, 1928.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Whakatane County Council proposes under the provisions of the abovementioned Acts to execute a certain public work-namely, the construction of a road-and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken : And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the said Whakatane County Council situated at The Strand, Whakatane, and is open for inspection without fee by all persons during ordinary office hours:
All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of such land who have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said land must state their objections in writing and send the same within forty (40) days from the first publication of this notice to the Clerk of the said Council at the said office.
SCHEDULE.
Approximate area of the parcel of land required to be taken: 2.25 perches.
Being portion of Section 5 of Lot 260A, Parish of Waimana, Block II, Whakatane Survey District, situated in the County of Whakatane, and coloured yellow on plan. Dated this 27th day of July, 1934.
