Tenders for Inland Mail-service Contracts.—South Island, 1935–37.

General Post Office,
Wellington, 19th July, 1934.

SEALED tenders will be received at the several Chief Post-offices in the South Island until noon on Wednesday, the 29th August, 1934, for the conveyance of mails between the undermentioned places, for a period of THREE YEARS, from the 1st January, 1935:—

POSTAL DISTRICT OF BLENHEIM.

  1. (a) Blenheim, Jordan, Upcot, and Molesworth, weekly.
    (b) Blenheim, Jordan, and Upcot (part private-bag delivery), weekly.

  2. (a) Blenheim, Netherwood, and Te Arowhenua, twice weekly.
    (b) Blenheim, Benhopai, Power-station, and Malvern (private-bag delivery), weekly.

  3. Blenheim and Omaka: Blenheim, along Maxwell Road, over Taylor River-bed, along new Renwick Road to Fairhall Valley, back to Omaka Settlement, Dove Point Road to Middle Renwick Road, Jordan’s Cross Road and Old Renwick Road (rural delivery), thrice weekly.

  4. Blenheim and Rapaura, daily.

  5. Blenheim, Onamalutu, Fabian’s Valley, Pine Valley, and Te Ron, twice weekly.

  6. Blenheim Railway-station, vessels in river, and Chief Post-office, as required.

  7. Blenheim, Robin Hood Bay, Ocean Bay, Hakahaka, Whangataura, Ngakuta, and Hakana, weekly.

  8. Blenheim, Seddon, Ward, Wharanui, Kekerangu, Clarence Bridge, Mangamauanu, Hapuku Schoolhouse, Kalkoura, Goose Bay, Osro, Conway Finger-post, and Parnassus (including the carriage of parcels between Parnassus and Kalkoura), (part private-bag delivery), daily.

  9. Blenheim, Waihopai, Wairau Valley, Hillersden, Birch Hill, and Branch River (part rural delivery), thrice weekly.

  10. Grove Wharf, Grove, and Mahakipawa, thrice weekly. (Alternative to No. 14.)

  11. Hapuku and Puhipuhi (rural delivery), twice weekly.

  12. Havelock, Brightlands, Elaine Bay, Fitzroy Bay, Te Towaka, Waitata Bay, Bulwer, Port Ligar, Forsyth Island, Wakatahuri, Te Puru, Okoha, Anakoha, Titirangi, Pohuenui, Waimaru, Clova Bay, Manaroa, Hopai, Eli Bay, Crail Bay, Taranui, Homewood, and Havelock (part private-bag delivery), twice weekly (except Te Towaka, and Fitzroy Bay, weekly). (Alternative to No. 13.)

  13. Havelock, Brightlands, Elaine Bay, Fitzroy Bay, Te Towaka, Waitata Bay, Bulwer, Port Ligar, Forsyth Island, Whakatahuri, Te Puru, Okoha, Anakoha, Titirangi, Pohuenui, Beatrix Bay, Waimaru, Clova Bay, Manaroa, Hopai, Eli Bay, Crail Bay, Taranui, Homewood, and Havelock (part private-bag delivery), twice weekly (except Te Towaka, and Fitzroy Bay, weekly).   14. Havelock, Mahakipawa, Grove, and Grove Wharf, thrice weekly. (Alternative to No. 10.)

  15. Havelock, Whatanihi, Palmer’s, Maungarimu, Pinohia, Maori Bay, J. H. Wells, Nydia Bay, Roadley’s, Hamilton, Tiraora, Te Rawa, Pokokini, South East Bay, Ynetya Bay, Tamure, Nikau Bay, Mahau, Ohingaroa, Birch Nook, Brownlee’s, and Havelock (part private-bag delivery), twice weekly.

  16. Picton, Cannibal Cove, and Anakakata (private-bag delivery), fortnightly. (Alternative to No. 17.)

  17. (a) Picton, Cannibal Cove, and Anakakata, fortnightly.
    (b) Picton, Dryden Bay, Pukekoikoi, Endeavour Inlet, and Resolution Bay (part private-bag delivery), weekly. (Alternative to Nos. 16 and 18.)

  18. Picton, Dryden Bay, Pukekoikoi, Endeavour Inlet, and Resolution Bay, weekly. (Alternative to No. 17.)

  19. Picton, Kilmarnock, Wharehunga, Greensill, Otanerau, and Onauku (mails to be delivered on outward journey and collected on inward trip), weekly.

  20. Picton and Portage, twice weekly. (Alternative to Nos. 21 and 25.)

  21. Picton and Toroa, twice weekly. (Alternative to No. 20.)

  22. Picton Railway-station, wharves, and Post-office (including the landing and shipping of transit mails at Picton Wharf), as required.

  23. Portage, Black Rock, Kenepuru Head, Waitaria Bay, St. Omer, Broughton Bay, and Portage, twice weekly. (Alternative to No. 24.)

  24. Portage, Kenepuru Head, Waitaria Bay, St. Omer, Broughton Bay, and Portage, twice weekly. (Alternative to No. 23.)

  25. Toroa and Portage, twice weekly. (Alternative to No. 20.)
