Date upon which the Reserve Bank of New Zealand shall have the right
to issue Bank-notes in New Zealand.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by section fifteen of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand Act, 1933, it is enacted that on and after a date to be fixed by the Governor-General by Proclamation, being not earlier than six months after the date of the publication of such Proclamation in the Gazette, the Reserve Bank established by that Act shall have the right to issue bank-notes in New Zealand, and that thereupon the authority of every other bank to issue bank-notes in New Zealand or to reissue the bank-notes of such bank in New Zealand shall cease and determine, anything to the contrary in any Act or in the Charter of any such bank notwithstanding:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section fifteen of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand Act, 1933, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, doth hereby fix and proclaim the first day of August, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-four, as the date on and after which the Reserve Bank of New Zealand shall have the right to issue bank-notes in New Zealand.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 26th day of January, 1934.
