As the said portion of street is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 87164, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

Vesting the Control of a Reserve in the Six-mile Creek Travelling-stock Reserve Board.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 27th day of April, 1934.
Present:
THE RIGHT HON. G. W. FORBES PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto forms portion of a reserve duly set apart as a resting-place for travelling stock: And whereas it is expedient that the control of the said reserve should be vested in a special Board as hereinafter provided:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section seventeen of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, doth hereby vest the control of the reserve described in the Schedule hereto, for the period of five years from the date hereof (unless previously amended or revoked under the said Act), in the undermentioned persons, namely,—

Edward Lionel Newport,
Murray Gordon Cleveland Newport,
John Edward Tomlinson, and
Arthur Kerr,
who are hereby constituted for that purpose a special Board by the name of the Six-mile Creek Travelling-stock Reserve Board (hereinafter referred to as “the Board”), with the powers and subject to the conditions hereinafter contained, that is to say,—
(1) The Board shall meet for the transaction of business on the second Saturday in the months of May, August, November, and February at the Kikiwa School, or at such other time or place as may from time to time be fixed by the Board. The first meeting shall be held on Saturday, the twelfth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-four.
(2) The members of the Board shall at their first meeting, and thereafter at an annual meeting to be held at a time fixed by the Board, elect one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join in the discussion and shall have an original as well as a casting vote. The Chairman shall hold office until the election of his successor. If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the time appointed for holding the same, the members present shall choose one of their number to be chairman of such meeting.
(3) All questions shall be determined by the majority of votes of the members of the Board present at a meeting. Any three members of the Board shall form a quorum. Any meeting may be adjourned from time to time.
(4) Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman, provided that two days’ notice of any such meeting is given to each member, specifying the business to be transacted at such special meeting; and no other business than that so specified shall be transacted at such meeting.
(5) If by resignation, death, incapacity, or otherwise, the seat of any member shall be or become vacant, or if any member absents himself without reasonable cause from three consecutive meetings of the Board, the Governor-General shall have power to appoint any other person to be a member of the Board in his stead.
(6) The Board shall control the said reserve for the purpose of providing accommodation for travelling-stock, and the reserve shall at all times be available for such purpose.
(7) The charges for grazing and paddocking stock shall not exceed two shillings per hundred head for sheep and twopence per head for cattle. Provision shall be made for keeping different flocks of sheep and herds of cattle separate as far as possible.
(8) Except under stress of weather, or in cases where roads are temporarily impassable, no stock which has been accommodated in the reserve for one night and one day shall be permitted to remain therein for any longer period if other stock requires accommodation which could not otherwise be provided except by the removal of the stock already in the reserve.
(9) Except for the purpose of consuming feed running to waste and keeping the pasture in good order, no stock other than travelling-stock, and one horse as may be required for the use of the caretaker appointed by the Board, shall be permitted to graze within the boundaries of the said reserve.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto has been duly set apart for river-protection purposes: And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor-General, it is expedient to vest the said reserve in the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Kowai:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section nine of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, doth hereby declare that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the reserve described in the Schedule hereto shall become vested in the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Kowai, in trust, for river-protection purposes.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 28 acres 2 roods 30 perches, more or less, and being part of Reserve 867, situated in Block IX of the Teviotdale Survey District, and bounded as follows: Towards the north by a public road; towards the north-east by Rural Sections 4443 and 7747, by the abutment of a road, and by a public road, 1371·9 links; towards the south by other part of Reserve 867, 2064·3 links, by the abutment of a road, and again by other part of Reserve 867, 1613·8 links; and towards the west by part of Reserve 3725, 205·3 links, by the abutment of a road, and again by other part of Reserve 3725, 325·0 links; save and except the intersecting roads. As the same is more particularly delineated on plan marked L. and S. 1911/1899, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
