Regulating Trawling and Danish Seine-netting in Whangamata
Harbour.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 27th day
of April, 1934.
Present :
THE RIGHT HON. G. W. FORBES PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS it is provided by section five of the Fisheries
Act, 1908 (hereinafter called “the said Act”), that the
Governor-General may, from time to time, by Order in Council
gazetted, make regulations imposing conditions and restrictions
on the taking of fish, and prohibiting any specified method
of taking fish, or the use of any specified engines, tackle, or
apparatus for taking the same :
And whereas it is expedient to prohibit trawling and the
use of Danish seine-nets within the waters hereinafter specified :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the
hereinbefore-recited power and authority, and of all other
powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, and acting
by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
of the said Dominion, doth hereby make the following regulations.

REGULATIONS.

No person shall trawl or use a trawl-net or a Danish seine-
net for the purpose of taking fish in all that area of tidal
waters in Whangamata Harbour inside a straight line drawn
in a south-south-easterly direction from Tarakihi Point
(Motu Karamuramu) to the Fourth, Sugar Loaf (or Quartz)
Island, and thence in a straight line approximately 218°
in a south-south-westerly direction to Neapito Rock, on the
southern side of the entrance to the said harbour. -
Any person committing a breach of this regulation shall
be liable to a fine of £50.

Mrs. Louisa Cannon to use and occupy a Part of the Fore-
shore and Land below Low-water Mark at Whangaroa,
Chatham Islands, as a Site for a Wharf.

of April, 1934.

WHEREAS by Order in Council dated the fourth day of
August, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-
four, and published in the Gazette of the seventh day of the
same month, at page 1857, Mrs. Louisa Cannon, of Christ-
church (hereinafter called “the licensee”), was licensed to
use and occupy a part of the foreshore and land below low-
water mark at Whangaroa, Chatham Islands, as a site for
a wharf, for a term of fourteen years :
And whereas the licensee has applied to have the herein-
before-recited license revoked, and it is desirable to revoke the
same :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of
the power and authority conferred upon him by the Harbours
Act, 1923, and of all other powers and authorities enabling
him in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth
hereby revoke the hereinbefore-recited Order in Council of
the fourth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and
twenty-four, as from the first day of April, one thousand nine
hundred and thirty-four.

April, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-four,
and published in the Gazette of the seventeenth day of the
same month, at page 921, Philip Henry Cannon, of Waitangi
West, Chatham Islands (hereinafter called “the licensee”),
was licensed to use and occupy a part of the foreshore in
Whangaroa Bay, Chatham Islands, as a site for a wharf
for a term of fourteen years :
And whereas the licensee has applied to have the herein-
before license revoked, and it is desirable to revoke the same :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of
