Situated on main Awanui-Hohoura Road, seven miles from Awanui, three miles metalled and balance is a formed sandy road. Cream-carts pass regularly in the season. Nearest school, post-office, and store is at Waipapakauri, four miles distant. Land is undulating, sandy loam country in rough feed, fern, and scrub, with some very warm valleys ; elevation 100 ft. to 150 ft. above sea-level. Watered by swamps and wells.

Settlement Land in North Auckland Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.

North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office,

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section is open for selection on renewable lease under the Land for Settlements Act, 1925; and applications will be received at the North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Monday, 19th February, 1934.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, on Wednesday, 21st February, 1934, at 10 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants.


SCHEDULE.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—SETTLEMENT LAND.

Hobson County.—Tangowahine Settlement.

SECTION 17s: Area, 152 acres 3 roods 20 perches. Capital value, £1,000; half-yearly rent, £25.

Section is situated on Tangowahine Settlement Road, two miles from Tangowahine Post-office, School, and Railway-station. About 60 acres swamp and the balance is undulating to hilly. Soil is of a rich deposit on the swamp and fair quality clay on hills, resting on sandstone formation; watered by swamp and springs. About 55 acres in worn-out pasture and about 35 acres in tea-tree.

Improvements included in the capital value consist of 50 acres felled and grassed, 25 chains boundary-fencing, 7W. 5P. 4B., and 79 chains of subdivisional fencing, 5W. 5P.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section is open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924, and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Nelson, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Monday, 5th March, 1934.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Nelson, on Thursday, 8th March, 1934, at 10.30 a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants.


SCHEDULE.

NELSON LAND DISTRICT.—THIRD-CLASS LAND.

Takaka County.—Waitapu Survey District.

(Exempt from payment of rent for five years.)

PART Section 6, Block VIII: Area, 857 acres 2 roods. Capital value, £215; half-yearly rent, £4 6s.

Weighted with £385 for improvements in favour of State Advances Superintendent. This amount may remain on mortgage for thirty years with interest at 6 per cent. per annum.

This property is situated at the head of the Pu Pu Valley, five miles and a half from Takaka Post-office and Golden Bay Dairy Factory, and six miles and a half from Takaka Saleyards. Access is by road and one mile and a quarter of foot-track. The soil is light, generally resting on clay and some limestone country. The section comprises mostly poor hilly broken country. The fencing has deteriorated to a great extent and the clearing is reverting to fern with the consequence that only a little grazing remains. A small quantity of foxglove and blackberry is noticeable but these are not bad.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section is open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924, and the Land for Settlements Act, 1925, and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Christchurch, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Friday, 9th March, 1934.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Christchurch, on Tuesday, 13th March, 1934, at 11 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants.


SCHEDULE.

CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.—SETTLEMENT LAND.

Selwyn County.—Selwyn Survey District.—Fyvie Settlement.

SECTION 4, Block X: Area, 375 acres 1 rood 5 perches. Capital value, £1,565; half-yearly rent, £39 2s. 6d.

Loaded with the sum of £465 for improvements, comprising dwelling of four rooms with conveniences, cow-shed, trap-shed, feed-house, piggery, water-supply, and fencing, repayable in cash or by a cash deposit of £65, and the balance by forty-two equal half-yearly instalments of £15 12s. in advance.

This section, which forms part of the Fyvie Settlement, is situated three miles and a half from the Bankside Post-office and Railway-station, and five miles from Mead School. The section is all flat, open, light plains land, part stony and shingly but all ploughable, and fairly clean except for twitch in some of the paddocks. Subdivided into thirteen paddocks, it is suitable for sheep grazing and fattening and growing of green feed and roots. The soil comprises light loam on shingle and clay formation; well watered by county races. Improvements included in the capital value of the lease comprise half value of 241 chains of boundary-fencing, and full value of 20 chains road-boundary fence, and 48½ chains of subdivisional fencing, the whole valued at £76 17s.
