SOUTH CANTERBURY ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by Part II of the Local Authorities Interest Reduction and Loans Conversion Act, 1932-33, and the South Canterbury Electric-power Board Loans Conversion Order, 1934, the South Canterbury Electric-power Board hereby resolves as follows:—

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the new securities authorized to be issued by the South Canterbury Electric-power Board under the above-mentioned Act and Order in conversion of existing securities to which the said Act and Order applies, issued in respect of the loans set out in the First Schedule to that Order, and also the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the unconverted securities issued in respect of such loans, the said South Canterbury Electric-power Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of 4d. in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property within the whole of the area of the district of the local authority over any part of which any existing special rate in respect of the loans specified in the First Schedule hereto was made and levied; and that special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such securities and be payable yearly on the 1st day of March in each and every year until the last maturity date of such securities, being the 1st day of March, 1963, or until such securities are fully paid off.”

I HEREBY certify that the necessary resolutions to proceed with the conversion of the South Canterbury Electric-power Board’s loans in accordance with the South Canterbury Electric-power Board Loan Conversion Order, 1934, were passed at a special meeting of the said Board held on the 29th January, 1934, and confirmed at the ordinary meeting of the said Board held on the 13th February, 1934.

AT an extraordinary general meeting of the members of the above company, held at the registered office of the company, Waterloo Quay, Wellington, on Monday, 29th January, 1934, the following extraordinary resolution was duly passed:—

“That it was resolved that it has been proved to the satisfaction of this meeting that the company cannot by reason of its liabilities continue its business and that it is advisable to wind up the same, and accordingly that the company be wound up voluntarily.”
