In the matter of the Companies Act, 1908, and of PARENGA KAURI OILS, LIMITED.

I, HAROLD BEANLAND WALTON, Assistant Registrar of Companies at Auckland, in pursuance of an order granted in the Supreme Court of New Zealand, Northern District, dated the 19th day of October, 1933, hereby give notice that the name of Parenga Kauri Oils, Limited, has been restored to the Register of Companies, and pursuant to the Companies Act, 1908, the said company is deemed to have continued in existence as if its name had never been struck off the said Register.

KAIRANGA COUNTY COUNCIL.

LAND TO BE TAKEN UNDER THE PUBLIC WORKS ACT, 1928, FOR RIVER-PROTECTION PURPOSES AT AWAHURI, NEAR THE AWAHURI BRIDGE.

NOTICE is hereby given that in pursuance of the powers vested in local authorities by and of the provisions contained in the Public Works Act, 1928, the Kairanga County Council, a County Council incorporated under the Counties Act, and having its office at Rangitikei Street, Palmerston North, intends at the expiration of forty days from the 21st day of October, 1933, being the date of first publication of this notice, to take under the Public Works Act, 1928, that piece or parcel of land more particularly described in the schedule hereunder written and as shown on a plan of the said piece of land coloured red, which said plan is deposited in the public office of the said Kairanga County Council, and is there open for inspection without fee by all persons during ordinary office hours.

The work proposed to be executed by the said Council is the protection of the left bank of the Oroua River in order to safeguard the approach to the Awahuri Bridge.

And take notice that all persons affected by the construction of the said public work or to the taking of the said land are required to set forth in writing any well-grounded objection to the execution of such public work or to the taking of such land, and to send such writing within forty days from the said 21st day of October, 1933, to the said Kairanga County Council, addressed to the County Clerk at the County Office, Rangitikei Street, Palmerston North.

THE SCHEDULE.

Area of land required to be taken: 7 acres 3 roods 28·7 perches, being portion of Lot 273 (D.P. 29), being part of Section 145, Township of Sandon Registration District, Block I, Kairanga Survey District.

APPLICATION FOR LICENSE FOR A WATER-RACE.

To the Warden of the Otago Mining District, at Lawrence.

PURSUANT to the Mining Act, 1926, the undersigned Thomas Chapman, of Clydevale, Farmer, hereby applies for a license for a water-race, as specified in the Schedule hereto, the course whereof has been duly marked out for the purpose.

Precise time of marking out privilege applied for: 12 noon, 25/9/33.

Date and number of miner’s right: 13/12/32; No. 37974.

Locality of the race, and of its starting and terminal points; also description of land traversed—e.g., unalienated Crown land, private land, or otherwise: Starting at a point in Back Creek, Rankleburn Survey District, about 3½ miles from its junction with the Pomahaka River, and running through H. Pitt’s leasehold for about 1½ miles, then into applicant’s private lands, being Section 6, Block III, Rankleburn Survey District, for about 10 chains and terminating there where applicant is carrying on mining operations.

Length and intended course of race: About 3½ miles; south-west.

Points of intake: One.

Estimated time and cost of construction: Eighteen months; £2,500.

Mean depth and breadth: 2 ft. by 5 ft. at top.

Number of heads to be diverted: twenty-five.

Purpose for which water is to be used: Mining.

Proposed term of license: Forty-two years.

NOTICE is hereby given that a general meeting of shareholders of the Premier Tailoring Company, Limited (in Voluntary Liquidation), will be held at the office of Messrs. Atkinson, Dale, and Mather, Solicitors, 217 Lambton Quay, Wellington, on Friday, the 10th day of November, 1933, at 3 p.m., for the purpose of laying before such meeting the liquidator’s accounts showing the manner in which the winding-up has been conducted and the assets of the company disposed of, and to offer any explanation the liquidator may wish to give and for the purpose of passing an extraordinary resolution as to the disposal of the books, accounts, and documents of the company as required by the Companies Act, 1908.
