THE following list of teachers is issued under the authority of the Minister of Education in accordance with the requirements of the Education Act. The list contains the names of—

(2) Whose grading has been altered as the result of appeal, correction in marks, or change in certificate :

Public Service Superannuation Act, 1927.

ELECTION OF A MEMBER OF THE PUBLIC SERVICE SUPERANNUATION BOARD, VICE H. A. LAMP, ESQUIRE, RESIGNED, TO REPRESENT CONTRIBUTORS BELONGING TO THE POST AND TELEGRAPH DEPARTMENT.

MR. ERNEST HEDLEY ROY GREEN, Telegraph Engineer, General Post Office, Wellington, being the only candidate nominated for the above election, I hereby declare him to be duly elected a member of the Public Service Superannuation Board to represent contributors belonging to the Post and Telegraph Department.

Incorporated Societies Act, 1908.—Declaration by the Assistant Registrar dissolving a Society.

I, WALTER HAROLD FLETCHER, Assistant Registrar of Incorporated Societies, do hereby declare that, as it has been made to appear to me that the Wellington Ladies’ Hairdressers Association, Incorporated, is no longer carrying on its operations, the aforesaid society is hereby dissolved in pursuance of section 28 of the Incorporated Societies Act, 1908.

Customs Tariff Commission, 1933.

Wellington, 25th October, 1933.

IT is hereby notified for public information that, except in very special cases, the Customs Tariff Commission, 1933, does not intend to hear evidence after 9th November, 1933.

It should be noted that the Commission may conclude (a) that the position with respect to any particular article under the tariff is as set out in the information already received; or to be received before the conclusion of the hearings, and (b) that where no information has been or will be received by the Commission with respect to any article no person, firm, or company is interested in the maintenance, reduction, increase, or abolition of the existing exemptions therefrom from duty or the rates of duty thereon.

It is therefore necessary that any person, firm, or company who desires to give evidence should communicate with the Chairman of the Commission not later than the 6th proximo.

Election of Member of Nelson Land Board.

District Lands and Survey Office,
Nelson, 18th October, 1933.

I, ALLAN FRANCIS WATERS, Returning Officer for the election of a member of the Nelson Land Board, do hereby notify, in accordance with the provisions of section 47 of the Land Act, 1924, and the regulations made thereunder, that the only person nominated to fill the vacancy occurring on the said Board was John O’Regan, Esquire, of Cronadun.

I do therefore hereby declare the said John O’Regan to be duly elected a member of the Nelson Land Board for a term of two years from the 18th day of December, 1933.

CROWN LANDS NOTICE.

Education Reserve in Hawke’s Bay Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.

District Lands and Survey Office,
Napier, 24th October, 1933.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section is open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924, and the Education Reserves Act, 1928; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Napier, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Monday, 4th December, 1933.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Napier, on Thursday, 7th December, 1933, at 10 a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants.

SCHEDULE.

HAWKE’S BAY LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.—EDUCATION RESERVE.

Weber County.—Tautane Survey District.

SECTION 3, Block I: Area, 1,288 acres. Capital value, £8,500; half-yearly rent, £170.

Improvements valued at £4,120, to be paid for in cash, comprise the following: Six-roomed dwelling with conveniences, old wool-shed, cow byre and yard, shearers’ cottage, motor and tool shed, yards, sheep-dip and dam, water conservation, fencing, plantations and shelter-belts, roads, bridges, and culverts, bushfelling and grassing.

A first-class sheep-farm, subdivided into thirteen paddocks, situated on Birch Road, off the Wimbledon–Porangahau Road, seven miles from Wimbledon School and Post-office, and forty miles from Waipukurau Saleyards and Railway-station. Access is by good metalled road, except for about one mile, which is still unmetalled. The section, which was originally covered with native bush long since felled, comprises long sloping spurs and deep gullies. The general aspect being easterly the property is not to any great extent affected by the drying westerly winds. About 115 acres in medium danthonia pasture, 3 acres in orchard and plantations, 1,150 acres in grass, and 20 acres in light standing bush. The soil is mostly good loam resting on rubbly blue papa formation; watered by permanent streams and springs.

Special Terms and Conditions.

  1. The successful applicant shall in addition to the required rental deposit pay a deposit equal to 15 per cent. of the value placed on the lessee’s interest, and shall on or before the 28th day of February, 1934, pay the balance in cash. If default is made in the payments provided all sums paid by way of deposit shall be forfeited.

  2. Possession will be given on 1st March, 1934.

  3. The proportion of rates payable from date of possession to 31st March, 1934, to be paid by the successful applicant.

Term of Lease.—Thirty-three years with a perpetual right of renewal at revaluation for further successive terms of thirty-three years.

Any further particulars required and other conditions of lease may be obtained from the Commissioner of Crown Lands, Napier.
