THE HAWERA MILK SUPPLY COMPANY, LIMITED.

IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION.

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1908, and in the matter of THE HAWERA MILK SUPPLY COMPANY, LIMITED.

At an extraordinary meeting of the members of the above company held in the company’s registered office, Victoria Street, Hawera, on Monday, 9th October, 1933, the following extraordinary resolution was duly passed :—

“That it has been proved to the satisfaction of this meeting that the company cannot by reason of its liabilities continue its business and that it is advisable to wind up the same, and that the company be wound up voluntarily, and that HORACE EDWARD ROBINSON, of Hawera, Accountant, be and he is hereby appointed Liquidator for the purpose of such winding-up.”

NOTICE OF CHANGE OF NAME.

I, ALBERT ERNEST BRADSHAW, heretofore called and known by the name of Albert Ernest Shufflebotham, of Haumoana, in the Provincial District of Hawke’s Bay, in the Dominion of New Zealand, Storekeeper, hereby give public notice that on the twenty-fifth day of September, 1933, I formally and absolutely renounced, relinquished, and abandoned the use of my said surname of Shufflebotham, and then assumed and adopted and determined thenceforth on all occasions whatsoever to use and subscribe the name of Bradshaw instead of the said name of Shufflebotham; and I give further notice that by deed-poll dated the twenty-fifth day of September, 1933, duly executed and attested and enrolled in the office of the Supreme Court of New Zealand, at Napier, on the 11th day of October, 1933, I formally and absolutely renounced and abandoned the said surname of Shufflebotham, and declared that I had assumed and adopted and intended thenceforth upon all occasions whatsoever to use and subscribe the name of Bradshaw instead of Shufflebotham, and so as to be at all times thereafter called, known, and described by the name of Bradshaw exclusively.

RESOLUTION.

THE following Regulations were laid before the members of the Taumarunui Racing Club at a meeting held on the 29th day of September, 1933, at Paeroa, with a recommendation by the Chairman of such club, Mr. C. A. Boles, that the same be passed at once with a view to their approval by His Excellency the Governor-General in pursuance of the Gaming Act, 1908, section 33.

Mr. C. A. Boles, the Chairman of such club, and the meeting moved, and Mr. I. M. Peters seconded, and it was resolved that such Regulations should be adopted and that the Chairman and Secretary be authorized to sign the same in authentication thereof.

The following are the Regulations referred to:—

THE TAUMARUNUI RACING CLUB.

REGULATIONS.

(Under the Gaming Act, 1908.)

In pursuance and exercise of the powers in that behalf contained in section 33 of the Gaming Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities it enabling in that behalf, the Taumarunui Racing Club, a racing club within the meaning of the said Act (hereinafter referred to as “the said Club”), doth hereby make the following regulations controlling the admission of persons to that part of the racecourse situated in the district of Ohinemuri and known as the Paeroa-Ohinemuri Racecourse while the said racecourse is used or occupied by the said club for race meetings.

  1. These regulations shall come into force on the date of the same being published in the New Zealand Gazette.

  2. In these regulations the words “bookmaker,” “racing club,” and “race meeting” shall have the meanings ascribed to those terms respectively by section 2 of the Gaming Act, 1908.

  3. The following persons shall be and are hereby excluded from the racecourse above described while the same is used or occupied by the said club for a race meeting, namely :—

(a) Bookmakers.

(b) Bookmakers’ clerks, bookmakers’ assistants, and bookmakers’ agents.

(c) All persons under disqualification inflicted by any racing or trotting club in the Dominion of New Zealand, the Commonwealth of Australia, or elsewhere if affiliated to the New Zealand Racing Conference, or the New Zealand Trotting Conference, or the New Zealand Trotting Association.

(d) Common prostitutes and persons who habitually consort with thieves or persons who have no lawful visible means of support.

(e) Professional tipsters, persons convicted of housebreaking or pocket-picking, forgery, uttering or possessing counterfeit coin, theft, false pretences, receiving stolen goods, mischief, assault, or any offence or crime of any kind under the Crimes Act, 1908, and also idle and disorderly persons, rogues, and vagabonds, and incorrigible rogues convicted under the Police Offences Act, 1908, and persons convicted of an offence under the Gaming Act, 1908.

Provided always that the Executive Committee appointed by the New Zealand Racing Conference, upon being satisfied by evidence as to character and otherwise that any person who, by reason of any conviction, comes within the scope of this regulation, should have relief from the effect thereof, may grant exemption to any such person, and may at any time revoke any such exemption without notice to such person, and without assigning any reason for such revocation.

The foregoing regulations of the Taumarunui Racing Club were made and passed by such club on the 29th day of September, 1933, and signed by the Chairman and Secretary.

THE CO-OPERATIVE FURNITURE MANUFACTURING COMPANY, LIMITED.

IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION.

NOTICE is hereby given in pursuance of sections 230 and 252 of the Companies Act, 1908, that a general meeting of the members of the above-named company will be held at the Liquidator’s office, “Brandon House,” Featherston Street, Wellington, on the 30th October, 1933, at 11 a.m., for the purpose of receiving the Liquidator’s account showing the manner in which the winding-up has been conducted and the property of the company disposed of, and of hearing any explanation that may be given by the Liquidator, and also of determining by extraordinary resolution the manner in which the books, accounts, and documents of the company and of the Liquidator thereof shall be disposed of.
