Appointment of Honorary Child Welfare Officers under the
Child Welfare Act, 1925.

General has, in pursuance of the provisions of the
Fisheries Act, 1908, and of the Official Appointments and
Documents Act, 1919, appointed
Michael Reginald Foster, of Levin,
to be an officer for the purposes of Part II of the first-mentioned
Act, in respect of the Wellington Acclimatization District.

to approve of the appointments, promotions, transfers,
and resignations of the undermentioned officers of the New
Zealand Military Forces:

STAFF.

Captain I. R. Withell, B.Sc., Regiment of Royal N.Z.
Artillery, relinquishes the appointments of Assistant I.O.O.,
and Assistant O.M.E., on proceeding to England for courses
of instruction in ordnance duties, and is seconded. Dated
4th October, 1932.

Lieutenant C. Shuttleworth, N.Z. Staff Corps, to be Area
Officer, Area lB, in addition to his present duties. Dated
1st October, 1932.

QUEEN ALEXANDRA'S (WELLINGTON WEST COAST) MOUNTED
RIFLES.

Lieutenant J. E. Stevens to be Captain. Dated 11th May,
1932.

2nd Lieutenant C. R. Sturrock to be Lieutenant. Dated
12th September, 1932.

THE AUCKLAND MOUNTED RIFLES.

Major J. F. Potter, V.D., is transferred to the Reserve of Officers,
Class I (b), R.D. 9. Dated 26th September, 1932.

THE OTAGO MOUNTED RIFLES.

Major O. L. Ferens is transferred to the Regimental Super-
numerary List. Dated 21st September, 1932.

The undermentioned officers, Regimental Supernumerary
List, are posted to the Active List. Dated 21st September,

CORPS OF N.Z. ENGINEERS.

2nd Lieutenant W. Bryden ceases to be attached to the 4th
Cadet Battalion, The Canterbury Regiment, and is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), R.D. 10. Dated
22nd September, 1932.

THE NORTH AUCKLAND REGIMENT.

2nd Lieutenant T. Scott, 2nd Cadet Battalion, to be
Lieutenant. Dated 20th December, 1931.

THE WELLINGTON REGIMENT.

Captain D. E. McC. Thomson, 1st Battalion, is transferred to
the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), R.D. 5. Dated 22nd
September, 1932.

THE CANTERBURY REGIMENT.

Lieutenant E. J. Bassett, Regimental Supernumerary List,
resigns his commission. Dated 22nd September, 1932.

2nd Lieutenant W. Bryden, Corps of N.Z. Engineers, ceases
to be attached to the 4th Cadet Battalion. Dated 22nd
September, 1932.

THE NELSON, MARLBOROUGH, AND WEST COAST REGIMENT.

The appointment of 2nd Lieutenant (on probation) W. J.
Branch, 3rd Cadet Battalion, is confirmed.

THE OTAGO REGIMENT.

Lieutenant R. Fraser, 1st Cadet Battalion, to be Captain.
Dated 6th September, 1932.

Lieutenant I. G. Borrie, Regimental Supernumerary List, is
transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), R.D. 11.
Dated 22nd September, 1932.

Sergeant Miller Easthope Hill
to be Bailiff of the Magistrates' Court at Temuka for the
purposes of the Magistrates' Courts Act, 1928, as from the
lst day of October, 1932.

Harold Donald
to be an Inspector of Sea-fishing for the purposes of Part I
of the Fisheries Act, 1908, and a Nautical Surveyor of
Ships and Inspector of Ships' Compasses for the purposes
of the Shipping and Seamen Act, 1908, as from the Ist day
of October, 1932.
