Appointment of Districts and Places for collecting Beer Duty under Part III of the Finance Act, 1915.

I N pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by Part III of the Finance Act, 1915, I, Joseph Gordon Coates, Minister of Customs, do hereby revoke so much of the Schedule to the warrant of appointment made by the Minister of Customs on 1st July, 1929, and published in the New Zealand Gazette on 4th July, 1929 (under which certain districts and places were appointed for the purposes of Part III of the said Act), as is set forth in the First Schedule hereto.

And I do hereby appoint the districts mentioned in Column No. 1 of the Second Schedule hereto as districts for the purpose of levying and collecting the beer duty imposed under Part III of the said Act or any Act amending the same; and I direct that each district shall respectively comprise the counties the names of which are set opposite to the name of such district in Column No. 2 of the said Second Schedule; and (save as otherwise appears from the entries in the said Column No. 2) all boroughs and town districts which are within the outer boundaries of those counties, or which are bounded by those counties, or are between those counties or any part thereof and the sea:

And I do further appoint that the places mentioned in Column No. 3 of the said Second Schedule shall be places in the said districts at which the duty (beer duty) imposed as aforesaid shall be paid, received, and collected.

WAIMAIA ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD.

PURSUANT to section 13 (1) of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of ratepayers of the special area of the Waimaia Electric-supply and Manufacturing Company, Limited, taken on the 28th day of June, 1933, on the proposal of the Waimaia Electric-power Board to borrow the sum of twenty-two thousand pounds (£22,000) for the purpose of purchasing the undertaking of the Waimaia Electric-supply and Manufacturing Company, Limited, the number of votes for the proposal was 660; the number of votes against the proposal was 209; informal votes, 3.

The proposal was therefore carried.

WAIMAIA ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD.

PURSUANT to section 13 (1) of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of ratepayers of the special area of the Waimaia Electric-power District comprising the Borough of Motueka and the surrounding districts of Riwaka, Lower Moutere, Mariri, Mapua, and Tasman, taken on the 21st day of June, 1933, on the proposal of the Waimaia Electric-power Board to borrow the sum of fifty-seven thousand pounds (£57,000) for the purpose and construction of works to provide electric-supply for the above-mentioned districts, the number of votes for the proposal was 524; the number of votes against the proposal was 70; informal votes, 2.

The proposal was therefore carried.

Classification of Roads in Egmont County.

I N pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on me by the Transport Department Act, 1929, and the Heavy Motor-vehicle Regulations, 1932, I, Joseph Gordon Coates, Minister of Transport, do hereby alter the Egmont County Council’s proposed classification of the roads described in the Schedule hereto, and situated in the Egmont County, and do hereby approve such altered classification as set forth in the said Schedule.


SCHEDULE.

EGMONT COUNTY.

ROADS classified in Class Three: Available for the use thereon of any heavy motor-vehicle which with the load it is carrying weighs not more than 6½ tons, or any multi-axled heavy motor-vehicle which with the load it is carrying weighs not more than 10 tons.

Main Highways.

Lepperton Junction—Hawera, via Opunake Main Highway No. 36. (All that portion within Egmont County.)

Opunake—Eltham Main Highway No. 39. (All that portion within Egmont County.)

Ihaha Main Highway No. 354.

Skeet Main Highway No. 359. (All that portion within Egmont County.)

Roads classified in Class Four: Available for the use thereon of any heavy motor-vehicle (other than a multi-axled heavy motor-vehicle) which with the load it is carrying weighs not more than 4½ tons, or any multi-axled heavy motor-vehicle which with the load it is carrying weighs not more than 6½ tons.

North Riding: Tipoka Road, Parihaka Road, Cape Road, Pungarehu Road, Wataroa Road, Newall Road, Stent Road, Ruakore Road, Paora Road, Mirikau Road, Kekena Road, Burgess Road, Bayly Road, Puhina Road, Warca Main Road, Okahu Main Road.
