Add new paragraph 47C as follows:—
Technical Section.—New Zealand Army Ordnance Corps and New Zealand Permanent Air Force.
“47C. The following shall be the rates of pay for armourer and armament artificers of the New Zealand Army Ordnance Corps, and for fitters and turners, metal riggers, and carpenter riggers of the New Zealand Permanent Air Force, with effect from 1st April, 1932:—

NOTE.—(a) After 31st March, 1933, the “single” rates of pay shown in table (1) shall become the flat rates for both single and married personnel enlisted prior to 1st January, 1933, provided that any such member married on or prior to 31st March, 1933, may continue to receive the married rate he was receiving on that date until such time as he becomes eligible by promotion for a higher rate under the “flat rate” scale hereby laid down, but provided that where the rate for rank under table (2) is higher, he may receive the latter.

Paragraph 49 is hereby revoked.

After paragraph 49 insert the heading “Rent of quarters,” and add the following new paragraph:—
“50. Members of the New Zealand Permanent Military Forces and civilians employed by the Department who occupy quarters provided for married men will be required to pay rental for same at rates from time to time laid down, and those accommodated in quarters or barracks provided for single men, other than under the conditions laid down in paragraphs 62 to 66, will be required to pay rental at the following rates as from the 1st day of June, 1933:—
Per Annum.
Military personnel, other than recruits and first and second year apprentices in the N.Z. Permanent Air Force .. £ s. d. 13 0 0
Third year apprentices in the N.Z. Permanent Air Force .. 3 0 0

Paragraph 51: Delete “£16” and the words following, and substitute “£14 8s., and after the termination of one year’s service an upkeep allowance of £5 8s. for each subsequent year, payable in advance.”

Paragraph 52 (1): Delete the items “Drawers, woollen,” and “Vests, woollen.”

Paragraph 54: Line 3: Delete “£7 10s.,” and substitute “£6 15s.” Line 5: Delete “£5,” and substitute “£4 10s.”
In line 3 of the amendment published in Gazette No. 58, dated 26th July, 1928, delete “£7 10s.,” and substitute “£6 15s.”

Paragraph 59: Add to heading “and Relieving Duty.”

Paragraph 59 is hereby revoked, and the following substituted:—
“59. (a) A member of the Permanent Forces temporarily transferred for duty at a station away from his own headquarters, and where neither rations nor quarters are provided, may be granted travelling-allowance for a period to be determined by the Under-Secretary, but not exceeding twenty-eight days in the case of a married member and seven days in the case of a single member. If the period of the special duty for which the temporary transfer is effected exceeds the number of days stated, a commuted allowance may be granted by the Under-Secretary.
“(b) When performing relieving duty at a station away from his own headquarters, a member of the Permanent Forces may be granted a relieving-allowance at a rate to be fixed by the Under-Secretary according to circumstances, but not exceeding the rate of travelling-allowance for rank laid down in paragraph 71. Ordinary travelling-allowance or expenses may, however, be claimed for the time occupied in travelling to and from headquarters.”
