Settlement Land in Canterbury Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.

District Lands and Survey Office,
Christchurch, 26th April, 1933.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section is open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924, and the Land for Settlements Act, 1925; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Christchurch, up to 4 o’clock p.m., on Friday, 9th June, 1933.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Christchurch, on Tuesday, 13th June, 1933, at 10 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants.


SCHEDULE.

CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.—SETTLEMENT LAND.—FIRST-CLASS LAND.

Waimate County.—Otaio Survey District.—Timaunga Settlement.

(Exempt from payment of rent for three years.)

SECTION 7, Block V: Area, 335 acres 3 roods. Capital value, £2,400. Half-yearly rent, £60.

Weighted with £600 for improvements, consisting of dwelling, outbuildings, stable, implement-shed and dairy, well, pump, tanks and piping, shelter-belts, bridges, &c., 58 chains party-boundary fencing, and 230 chains subdivisional fencing.

This sum is payable in cash or may remain on mortgage to the State Advances Department, payable over a term of thirty years, by half-yearly instalments of principal and interest combined amounting to £21 13s. 6d., interest being at the rate of 6 per cent.

Free from payment of interest on the mortgage for one year from the date of selection providing the property is improved to the satisfaction of the mortgagee.

This section is part of the well-known Timaunga Settlement, and is situated about twenty-one miles from Timaru by a fair gravelled road. Comprises some stony flats, balance easy to steep downs, broken by gullies and steep terrace. Soil is light to medium quality, resting on clay and gravel formation, and watered by river, dams, and spring. The section is subdivided into eleven paddocks and the present condition is as follows: 16 acres in good pasture; 36 acres ploughed; 2 acres homestead; balance (281 acres) in worn-out pasture. Improvements to the value of £96, consisting of 238 chains party and subdivisional fencing, are included in the capital value.

NOTE.—After the payment of the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, and lease fee, exemption from rent will be granted, subject to the selector carrying out improvements to the land to the satisfaction of the Land Board.

New Plymouth, 26th April, 1933.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section is open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924, and the Land for Settlements Act, 1925; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, New Plymouth, up to 4 o’clock p.m., on Monday, 22nd May, 1933.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, New Plymouth, on Wednesday, 24th May, 1933, at 10 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants.


SCHEDULE.

TARANAKI LAND DISTRICT.—FIRST-CLASS LAND.—SETTLEMENT LAND.

Taranaki County.—Huatoki Settlement.

SECTIONS 20s and 22s: Area, 27 acres 3 roods 33 perches. Capital value, £600. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £15.

Weighted with £500 for improvements, comprising four-roomed house, cow-shed, shed, 58 chains boundary and subdivisional fencing, tanks and stands. This amount is payable in cash or over a term of twenty-one years by forty-two half-yearly instalments of £19 10s., being principal and interest combined.

This property is situated on the Huatoki Road about 2½ miles from the New Plymouth Post-office. A cream-lorry passes the sections.

About 12 acres comprise level country, balance is easy to steep. It is subdivided into six paddocks. Soil is of a good quality light loam.

Any further particulars required may be obtained from the Commissioner of Crown Lands, New Plymouth.

NOTICE is hereby given that THOMAS SCHOLLUM, of Matawai, Storekeeper, was this day adjudged bankrupt; and I hereby summon a meeting of creditors to be held at my office on Wednesday, the 26th day of April, 1933, at 2.30 o’clock p.m.
