IN LIQUIDATION.
NOTICE is hereby given pursuant to section 230 of the Companies Act, 1908, that a general meeting of the members of the above-named company will be held at the office of J. H. Barnett, Public Accountant, Huddart Parker Buildings, Wellington, on the 12th day of December, 1932, at 2 o'clock in the afternoon, for the purpose of having an account laid before the company showing the manner in which the winding-up has been conducted and property of the company disposed of, and of hearing any explanation that may be given by the Liquidator, and also of determining by extraordinary resolution the manner in which the books, accounts, and documents of the company and of the Liquidator shall be disposed of.

NOTICE is hereby given that the above-named company resolved that it go into voluntary liquidation as from the 31st day of July, 1932.

PETONE AND LOWER HUTT GAS LIGHTING BOARD.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
WHEREAS by section 55 of the Local Legislation Act, 1931, after reciting that the said Board had been constituted a local authority within the meaning of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and might exercise within the Boroughs of Petone and Lower Hutt all and every of the powers conferred on a local authority by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and after reciting that there was outstanding and owing by the said Board debentures for a special loan of £14,000 raised by the Corporation of the Borough of Lower Hutt of which a sum of £9,500 was unpaid, and that the said Board proposed to raise a special loan for the purpose of paying off the said unpaid balance, and after reciting an Order in Council of the 13th day of April, 1931, whereby the precedent consent of the Governor-General in Council was given to the raising by the said Board of a special loan of £7,250 on the terms set out in the said Order in Council, and that doubts had arisen as to the power of the said Board to raise such special loan, it was enacted that the said Board might by special order raise the sum of £7,250 for the purpose of paying off the balance of £9,500 being the amount outstanding in respect of the said loan of £14,000; and it was further enacted that the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, including in particular sections 32 and 114 thereof, should so far as applicable apply to all loans that might be raised under the authority of the said sections; and whereas the said Board passed a special order to raise the said sum of £7,250 as authorized by the Local Legislation Act, 1931, and whereas by an Order in Council made at Wellington on the 10th day of February, 1932, after reciting, inter alia, as is hereinbefore recited and that the said sum of £7,250 was then unpaid and that the said Board proposed to raise a special loan to pay off the same and after reciting that an application had been made under the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, for the precedent consent of the Governor-General in Council under section 114 of that Act for the fixing of the rate of interest on the said sum of £7,250, and for the consent of the Governor-General in Council under section 32 of the said Act to the raising by the said Board of the said sum of £7,250 upon terms of making the same together with interest thereon repayable by instalments as provided in the now reciting Order in Council, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand acting as declared in the now reciting Order in Council did consent to the raising by the said Board of the said sum of £7,250 at such rate of interest as should not produce to the lender a rate of interest exceeding the rate of six pounds per centum per annum, and did further consent to the raising of the said sum of £7,250 upon terms of making the same repayable by instalments as provided in the now reciting Order in Council; and whereas by special order completed on the 12th day of April, 1932, the said Board resolved to raise the said sum of £7,250 on terms of making the same repayable by instalments with interest as provided in the now reciting Order in Council, and the said Board did permanently appropriate and pledge a special rate of 13/200ths of a penny in the pound sterling proposed to be made and levied by this resolution on the basis of the unimproved value of all rateable property in the Boroughs of Petone and Lower Hutt; and whereas the said Board has determined to make and levy the said special rate of 13/200ths of a penny in the pound sterling. Now, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and all other powers it thereunto enabling, the said Board hereby resolves as follows:—
That for the purpose of providing interest, sinking-fund instalments, and other charges on the said sum of £7,250 authorized to be raised as is hereinbefore recited, the said Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of 13/200ths of a penny in the pound sterling on the rateable value, on the basis of the unimproved value, of all rateable property in the Boroughs of Petone and Lower Hutt, comprising the whole of the said boroughs, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of the said loan, and be payable on the first day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 21 years, or until the said loan is fully paid off.
Given under the common seal of the Petone and Lower Hutt Gas Lighting Board, this 9th day of November, 1932.

HAWKE’S BAY COUNTY COUNCIL.
DECLARATION OF POLL ON PROPOSAL THAT THE SYSTEM OF RATING IN THE HAWKE’S BAY COUNTY BE ON THE UNIMPROVED VALUE.
PURSUANT to section 42 of the Rating Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Hawke’s Bay County taken on Wednesday, the 2nd day of November, 1932, on the proposal that the system of rating in the said county be on the unimproved value—
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 1,661.
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 1,214.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1908, and in the matter of the WANGANUI PEOPLES BUILDING SOCIETY AND INVESTMENT COMPANY, LIMITED.
NOTICE is hereby given that the order of the Supreme Court of New Zealand, Wanganui District, dated the 8th day of November, 1932, confirming the reduction of the capital of the above-named company from £15,000 to £12,137 10s. by returning to shareholders paid-up capital in excess of the wants of the company, and the minute approved by the Court showing with respect to the capital of the said company as altered the several particulars required by the above Act, were registered by the Registrar of Companies on the 18th day of November, 1932.
