Appointments in the Public Service.

THE Public Service Commissioner has made the following appointments in the Public Service :—

Constable Arthur Hodgens

to be Clerk and Bailiff of the Magistrate’s Court at Mangonui for the purposes of the Magistrates’ Courts Act, 1928, as from the 31st day of August, 1932.

Arnold Hansson

to be a Ranger under the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921–22, for the Hobson and Bay of Islands Acclimatization Districts, as from the 8th day of September, 1932.

George Duggan

to be the Inspecting Engineer of Metalliferous Mines for the purposes of the Mining Act, 1926, and its amendments, Chief Inspector of Coal-mines for the purposes of the Coal-mines Act, 1925, and its amendments, and an Inspector of Stone Quarries for the purposes of the Stone Quarries Act, 1910, and its amendments, as from the 12th day of September, 1932.

Job Hughes

to be an Inspector of Mines for the Otago, Southland, and Canterbury Districts for the purposes of the Coal-mines Act, 1925, and its amendments, as from the 10th day of September, 1932.

Classification of No. 23 Main Highway, Te Kuiti – Bulls via Taumarunui.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on me by the Transport Department Act, 1929, and the Heavy Motor-vehicle Regulations, 1932, I, Ethelbert Alfred Ransom, Acting Minister of Transport, do hereby approve of the Main Highway Board’s proposed classification of the road described in the Schedule hereto and situated in the Ohura County.

OHURA COUNTY.

ROADS classified in Class Four : Available for the use thereon of any heavy motor-vehicle (other than a multi-axled heavy motor-vehicle) which with the load it is carrying weighs not more than 4½ tons, or any multi-axled heavy motor-vehicle which with the load it is carrying weighs not more than 6½ tons :—

Te Kuiti – Bulls via Taumarunui Main Highway No. 23 :

All that portion of the main highway situate in the Ohura County.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on me by the Acts Interpretation Act, 1924, and the Motor-vehicles Act, 1924, I, Ethelbert Alfred Ransom, Acting Minister of Transport, do hereby revoke, so far as it refers to classification of the Great South Road, the Warrant dated the 14th day of November, 1928, and published in the New Zealand Gazette, No. 85, of the 15th day of November, 1928, at page 3312.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on me by the Transport Department Act, 1929, and the Heavy Motor-vehicle Regulations, 1932, I, Ethelbert Alfred Ransom, Acting Minister of Transport, do hereby approve of the Tahunanui Town Board’s proposed classification of the roads described in the Schedule hereto, and situated in Tahunanui Town District.

TAHUNANUI TOWN BOARD DISTRICT.

ROADS classified in Class Three : Available for the use thereon of any heavy motor-vehicles (other than a multi-axled heavy motor-vehicle) which with the load it is carrying weighs not more than 6½ tons, or any multi-axled heavy motor-vehicle which with the load it is carrying weighs not more than 10 tons.

Beach Road : Muritai Street, from the main road to Moana Street.
