Order in Council consenting to the Raising of a Loan of £400 by the Glen Eden Town Board.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 19th day of September, 1932.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the Glen Eden Town Board (hereinafter called “the said local authority”) proposes to raise, pursuant to the terms of a Warrant issued under section one hundred and thirty-five of the Public Works Act, 1928, the sum of four hundred pounds by a loan to be known as “Kearon’s Bridge Reconstruction Loan, 1932,” for the purpose of meeting its share of the cost of constructing a bridge over Kearon’s Creek on the Waikumete–West Coast Main Highway:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, doth hereby consent to the raising by the said local authority of the said loan up to the amount of four hundred pounds, for a term not exceeding thirty-six and a half years, at such rate or rates of interest as shall not produce to the lenders a rate exceeding the rate of five pounds five shillings per centum per annum, subject to the condition that the said local authority shall, before borrowing the said sum or any part thereof, make provision for the repayment thereof by establishing a sinking fund under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and shall thereafter make to such sinking fund payments at intervals of not more than one year at a rate or rates which shall be not less than the rate of one pound per centum, such payments to be made in respect of every part of the said sum for the time being so borrowed and not repaid, and the first payment to be made not later than one year after the first day from which interest to the lender is computed on any moneys so borrowed, and subject to the further condition that no portion of interest or sinking fund shall be paid out of loan-moneys.

Order in Council varying the Rate of Interest in respect of portion—viz., £42,800—of the Wellington City Council’s Loan of £50,000.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 19th day of September, 1932.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by Order in Council made on the sixteenth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-one, and published in the Gazette on the nineteenth day of the same month, at page 378, consent was given to the raising by the Wellington City Council (hereinafter called “the said local authority”) of the “Street-widening Loan, 1931,” up to the amount of fifty thousand pounds at a rate of interest not exceeding five pounds ten shillings per centum per annum, of which loan the sum of forty-two thousand eight hundred pounds (hereinafter referred to as the “said sum”) has not yet been borrowed:
And whereas by reason of the Local Authorities’ Loans (Rates of Interest) Act, 1931, it is unlawful for the said local authority to borrow any part of the said sum at a rate exceeding five pounds per centum per annum:
And whereas it is expedient to raise the rate of interest at which the said sum may be borrowed:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by section eleven of the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926, and by section sixty-three of the Finance Act, 1932, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, doth hereby prescribe that the said sum, or any part thereof, may be borrowed at a rate of interest being such as shall not produce to the lenders a rate exceeding five pounds five shillings per centum, and the said local authority is hereby authorized to borrow the said sum accordingly.

Order in Council authorizing the Borrowing by the Waikato Hospital Board by way of Hypothecation of Debentures issued in respect of the Redemption Loan, 1932, £12,000.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 19th day of September, 1932.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the Waikato Hospital Board (hereinafter called “the said local authority”) has been authorized to borrow in respect of a loan to be known as “Redemption Loan, 1932,” the sum of twelve thousand pounds, and the said sum has not yet been borrowed:
And whereas the said local authority is desirous of borrowing the said sum of twelve thousand pounds pursuant to section thirty-four of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, by the hypothecation or mortgage of the debentures authorized to be issued in respect of the said loan:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, doth hereby consent to the borrowing of the said sum of twelve thousand pounds by the hypothecation or mortgage of the said debentures, and the said local authority is hereby authorized to borrow the said sum accordingly.

Prohibiting Alienation by Natives.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 19th day of September, 1932.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section one hundred and sixty-seven of the Native Land Act, 1931, it is provided that, for the purpose of enabling any scheme of consolidation of the interests of owners of Native land into suitable areas to be prepared and carried into effect, the Governor-General may, by Order in Council, prohibit any alienation of Native land or of land owned by Natives in respect of which application has been made by the Native Minister to the Court for the preparation of such a scheme:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority hereinbefore mentioned, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby prohibit all alienation of the land specified in the Schedule hereto, except as in the said section provided or in favour of the Crown.
