PRIVATE BILL.

In the matter of a proposed Private Bill to be intituled “An Act to incorporate the Young Men’s Christian Association of the City of Wellington, and to vest therein certain Real and Personal Property.”

NOTICE is hereby given that at the session of the General Assembly of New Zealand held next after the date of this notice a petition will be presented to the said General Assembly praying and applying for leave to bring in during such session the above-mentioned Private Bill, the objects of which are—

(a) To incorporate the Young Men’s Christian Association of the City of Wellington, being an Association of young men and boys resident in or about the City of Wellington, formed in the year 1906 and since continuously functioning (and now incorporated under the provisions of the Incorporated Societies Act, 1908), for the purpose of developing the christian character and usefulness of young men and boys and of improving their spiritual, mental, social, and physical condition :

(b) To remove doubts which from time to time have arisen as to the respective powers of the said Association and of the Young Men’s Christian Association Trust Board (incorporated under the provisions of the Religious, Charitable, and Educational Trusts Act, 1908) in respect of the control and management of the real property of the said Association at present vested in the said Trust Board, and to remove any doubts which may exist as to the nature of the trusts on which the said property is held by the said Trust Board :

(c) To vest in the said Association certain lands situate in the City of Wellington and described in the Third and Fourth Schedules of the said proposed Private Bill, and at present vested in the said Trust Board :

(d) To vest in the said Association the personal property to which the said Association is entitled :

(e) To provide the constitution of the said Association :

(f) To set out and provide the rights, powers, duties, and obligations of the said Association with regard to its real and personal property and with regard to any contract enforceable by or against the said Association or the said Trust Board and subsisting at the date of the coming into operation of the said proposed Act..

Printed copies of the said proposed Private Bill will be deposited in the Private Bill Office of the General Assembly of New Zealand before or within fourteen days next after the commencement of the said session.

This notice is published at the direction of the Board of Directors of the said Association pursuant to a resolution of the members of the said Association in that behalf, and the undersigned firm acting as solicitors for the said Association is responsible for its publication.

PRIVATE BILL.

In the matter of an Act to enable CATHERINE THOMSON, of Waihi, and others, to succeed to the property of James Thomson, of Waihi, Engine-driver (deceased).

NOTICE is hereby given that application by petition to the General Assembly for leave to bring in a Bill for passing at the next ensuing session of the General Assembly will be made by Catherine Thomson, of Waihi. The object of the Bill will be to enable the said Catherine Thomson and the natural children of the said James Thomson and Catherine Thomson to succeed to the property of the said James Thomson (deceased). Printed copies of the Bill will be deposited in the Private Bill Office not earlier than thirty days before and not later than fourteen days after the commencement of the next ensuing session of the General Assembly. The Bill will provide for the annulling of the right or privilege of the Crown to succeed to the said property as bona vacantia, and for the refund of excess death duties, notwithstanding the limitation of time for the claiming of refunds imposed by the Death Duties Act, 1921.

NELSON CITY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING A SPECIAL RATE.

Water Reticulation Renewal Loan, 1932, £7,700.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926, and of all other powers thereunto enabling it the Nelson City Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That for the purpose of providing the interest and sinking fund and other charges (if any) on a loan of seven thousand seven hundred pounds authorized to be raised by the Nelson City Council under the above-mentioned Acts for the purpose of redeeming the outstanding balance of a loan of ten thousand pounds maturing on the 1st day of May, 1932, the Nelson City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of three-farthings in the pound upon the rateable value (being the annual value) of all rateable property within the City of Nelson as defined by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, being a period of twelve years or until the loan is fully paid off.

That a sinking fund of two pounds per centum per annum be and is hereby established in respect of the said loan, and the amount thereof shall be paid to the Nelson City Sinking Fund Commissioners to be held and disposed of by them as required by law.
