Mining Privileges to be struck off the Register.—Notice under the Mining Act, 1926.

NOTICE is hereby given in pursuance of the provisions of section 188 (3) of the Mining Act, 1926, that, unless sufficient cause to the contrary is shown within three months from the date hereof, the mining privileges mentioned in the Schedule hereto will be struck off the Register.

CROWN LANDS NOTICES.

Settlement Land in Canterbury Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.

District Lands and Survey Office,
Christchurch, 30th August, 1932.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section is open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924, and the Land for Settlements Act, 1925; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Christchurch, up to 4 o’clock p.m., on Friday, 7th October, 1932.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Christchurch, on Tuesday, 11th October, 1932, at 10 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants.

SCHEDULE.

CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.—FIRST-CLASS LAND.—SETTLEMENT LAND.

Waimate County.—Otaio Survey District.—Timaunga Settlement.

(Exempt from the payment of rent for six months.)

SECTION 7, Block V: Area, 335 acres 3 roods. Capital value, £2,686. Half-yearly rent, £67 3s.

Loaded in favour of the State Advances Superintendent with the sum of £695, for improvements consisting of dwelling, outbuildings, stable, implement-shed and dairy, well, pump, tanks and piping, shelter-belts, bridges, &c., together with 58 chains party boundary fencing and 230 chains subdivisional fencing. If necessary the full amount can be secured by an instalment mortgage for a term of thirty years, with interest at 6 per cent.

This section is part of the well-known Timaunga Settlement, and situated about twenty-one miles from Timaru by fair gravelled road. Comprises some stony flats, balance easy to steep downs, broken with gullies and steep terrace. Soil is light to medium quality, resting on clay and gravel formation and watered by river, dams, and spring. The section is subdivided into eleven paddocks and the present condition is as follows: 16 acres in good pasture; 36 acres ploughed; 2 acres homestead; balance (281 acres) in worn-out pasture. Improvements to the value of £96, consisting of 238 chains party and subdivisional fencing are included in the capital value.

Special Condition: After the payment of the required deposit of the first half-year’s rent (£67 3s.), and lease fee (£1 1s.), a remission of six months’ rent will be granted, subject to the lessee carrying out improvements to the land to the satisfaction of the Land Board.

Any further particulars required may be obtained from the Commissioner of Crown Lands, Christchurch.
