Appointment of Officers under Part II of the Fisheries Act, 1908.

IT is hereby notified that His Excellency the Governor-General has, in pursuance of the provisions of the Fisheries Act, 1908, and of the Official Appointments and Documents Act, 1919, appointed
Temple Chevallier Cobbold, of Shaftesbury, and
Robert Taylor Kelly, of Te Aroha,
to be officers for the purposes of Part II of the first-mentioned Act, in respect of the Auckland Acclimatization District.

THE Public Service Commissioner has made the following appointments in the Public Service :—
James Joseph Leander Burke
to be District Land Registrar for the Wellington Land District for the purposes of the Land Transfer Act, 1915, as from the 1st day of July, 1932.
Edwin Peck
to be Receiver of Land Revenue for the Marlborough Land District for the purposes of the Land Act, 1924, as from the 8th day of July, 1932.
James Torrance
to be Receiver of Land Revenue for the Otago Land District, for the purposes of the Land Act, 1924, as from the 25th day of July, 1932.
Albert Murray Kennedy
to be Maintenance Officer at the Magistrates’ Court at Thames, for the purposes of the Destitute Persons Amendment Act, 1926, as from the 1st day of July, 1932.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Block I, Waikohu Survey District, for the Purposes of a Road.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a road—and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the Post-office at Otoko, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or by the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.

APPROXIMATE areas of the pieces of land required to be taken :—

In the Gisborne Land District; as the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 84288, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured as above mentioned.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Block XII, Rotoiti Survey District, for the Purposes of a Quarry.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for the purposes of a quarry. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the Post-office at Rotoiti, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.
SCHEDULE.
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land required to be taken : 2 roods.
Being portion of Waione No. 3a No. 7b Section 2 Block.
Situated in Block XII, Rotoiti Survey District (Auckland R.D.). (S.O. 26712.)
In the Auckland Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 84294, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

Clutha County Council.
CANCELLATION OF UNEXERCISED LOAN AUTHORITY.
In the matter of section 118 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.
WHEREAS the Clutha County Council has been duly authorized to borrow by way of special loan the sum of three hundred and fifty pounds for completing the Conical Hills Section of the Waipahi-Pomahaka Main Highway, and the consent of the Governor-General in Council to the raising of the said loan was given by Order in Council made on the 29th day of September, 1930, and published in the Gazette on the 2nd day of October, 1930, at page 2875 :
And whereas, in respect of the said sum of three hundred and fifty pounds, there has been raised and borrowed for the purposes aforesaid the sum of two hundred and thirty-three pounds thirteen shillings and elevenpence, and it has not been found necessary to borrow the whole of the amount so authorized :
And whereas the Acting Minister of Finance has duly notified the Clutha County Council in writing of his intention to cancel the loan authority in so far as it has not been exercised :
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers in that behalf conferred upon me by section 118 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, as amended by section 46 of the Finance Act, 1931 (No. 4), and of all other powers me in this behalf enabling, I, John G.
