Notification of Commencement of Trade Agreement between
the Dominions of Canada and New Zealand.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by Article X of a Trade Agreement between
the Dominions of Canada and of New Zealand, entered
into on the twenty-third day of April, one thousand nine
hundred and thirty-two, and ratified in New Zealand by the
Trade Agreement (New Zealand and Canada) Ratification
Act, 1932, it is provided that the said Agreement shall be
brought into force upon a date to be agreed upon between
the Governments of Canada and of New Zealand :

And whereas it has been agreed by the said Governments
that the said Trade Agreement shall come into force on the
twenty-fourth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and
thirty-two :

And whereas by section three of the said Act it is provided
that notification of the said date shall be made by Pro-
clamation :

Now, therefore, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and
exercise of the power conferred on me by section three of the
Trade Agreement (New Zealand and Canada) Ratification
Act, 1932, do hereby proclaim and notify that the Trade
Agreement hereinbefore referred to shall come into force
accordingly on the aforesaid twenty-fourth day of May, one
thousand nine hundred and thirty-two.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued
under the Seal of that Dominion, this 23rd day of May,
1932.

Revoking Orders in Council altering Rates of Duty on certain
Canadian Goods.β€”(C. No. 90.)

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 23rd day of
May, 1932.

Present :

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE J. G. COATES PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred on him by section thirty-one of the Customs
Amendment Act, 1921, and of all other powers and authorities
enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with
the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said
Dominion, doth hereby revoke the Orders in Council altering
the rates of Customs duty on certain goods being the produce
or manufacture of the Dominion of Canada, made on the
twentieth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and
thirty, and the first day of June, one thousand nine hundred
and thirty-one, and gazetted on the twenty-first day of August,
one thousand nine hundred and thirty, and the first day of
June, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-one, respec-
tively ; and with the like advice and consent doth hereby
declare that notwithstanding such revocation all duties that
have become due and payable under such Orders in Council,
and all penalties and forfeitures that have been incurred
thereunder, shall be recovered and enforced as if this Order
in Council had not been made ; and doth hereby further
declare that this Order in Council shall come into force on the
twenty-fourth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and
thirty-two.
