Amendments to the Regulations under the Public Service Act, 1912.

IN pursuance and exercise of the authority conferred on him by
the Public Service Act, 1912 (hereinafter called “the said Act”),
the Commissioner, with the approval of the Governor-General in
Council, doth hereby, in respect of the regulations made under the
said Act on the thirty-first day of March, one thousand nine hundred
and thirteen, and published in the New Zealand Gazette on the first
day of April, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen, and the amend-
ments thereof made from time to time under the provisions of the
said Act, make the amendments shown in the Schedule hereto.

Such amendments shall have effect from and after the first day
of April, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-two.

SCHEDULE.

Regulation 8B is hereby amended by deleting the figures “£423”
whenever they occur, and substituting therefor the figures “£380 14s.”

Regulation 8E is hereby revoked, and the following substituted in
lieu thereof:—

RATE OF PAYMENT.

8E. The following shall be the rate of payment for overtime, where
such payment is sanctioned, and shall apply only to officers of the
Professional and Clerical Divisions:—

Officers receiving a salary not exceeding £153 18s. per annum Per Hour.

Officers receiving over £153 18s. and not exceeding £205 4s. per annum 1 4

Officers receiving over £205 4s. and not exceeding £238 19s. per annum 1 9

Officers receiving over £238 19s. and not exceeding £307 16s. per annum 2 3

Officers receiving over £307 16s. and not exceeding £380 14s. per annum 2 8

Overtime shall be calculated to the nearest quarter of an hour.

Officers of the General Division whose cases are not met by special
regulation, in that behalf may be paid for overtime at such rate as may
be fixed by the Commissioner from time to time.

Regulation 109 is hereby revoked, and the following substituted
in lieu thereof:—

TRAVELLING-ALLOWANCES AND TRAVELLING-EXPENSES.

  1. All salaried officers shall receive travelling-allowance for
    personal expenses at the following rates:—

(a) Officers drawing salaries not exceeding £123 19s. 6d. per annum: Actual expenses.

(b) Officers drawing salaries exceeding £123 19s. 6d. and not exceeding £307 16s. per annum Per Diem.

(c) Officers drawing salaries exceeding £307 16s. and not exceeding £380 14s. per annum 13 6

(d) Officers drawing salaries exceeding £380 14s. and not exceeding £457 13s. per annum 16 0

(e) Officers drawing salaries exceeding £457 13s. per annum 18 0

Provided that while at sea, if the time occupied is more than twenty-four hours, the allowance shall be—

For the first day of absence from headquarters 9 0

For subsequent days 2 3

Regulation 111B is hereby revoked, and the following substituted
in lieu thereof:—

RELIEVING-ALLOWANCES.

111B. Officers called upon to perform relieving duty which
necessitates their absence at night from home may be paid allow-
ances at the following rates:—

To officers drawing salaries not exceeding £123 19s. 6d.: Actual and reasonable expenses.

To officers drawing salaries exceeding £123 19s. 6d. and not exceeding £238 19s. Per Diem.

Officers entitled to lodging-allowance, when appointed to relieving
duty involving separate payment for such duty, will not be entitled
to claim lodging-allowance for a longer time than one week after
the relieving duty commences.
