Except where inconsistent with the context or otherwise specially provided, the following days shall be public holidays, namely:—
(a) New Year’s Day.
Good Friday.
Anzac Day.
Sovereign’s Birthday.
Labour Day.
Christmas Day.
The day after Christmas Day.
(As to each provincial district) the day recognized in such district as Anniversary Day.
(b) Any day declared by the Government Railways Board to be a public holiday and publicly notified as such.
